HD Electric V-Watch Pro Personal Voltage Detector with Mute Button

The HD Electric V-Watch Pro Personal Voltage Detector with Mute Button can be used to detect and alert the individual to the proximity of high voltages, electrical fields and energised electrical equipment. This instrument is particularly useful for line crews, storm restoration workers and first responders working to restore power quickly and safely in emergencies.

The HD Electric V-Watch Pro Personal Voltage Detector with Mute Button is available as part of a variety of kits that vary in regards to the inclusion of an HD Electric VW-K-BAG Zippered Carrying Bag (for storing the detector, lanyard and instruction manual) and the type of carrying case lanyard included with the unit. There are two types of carrying case lanyards available: the standard C-10 black carrying case lanyard and the C-10FR fire-resistant, high-visibility, green carrying case lanyard; please see the ‘What’s Included?’ section for further information regarding the items included in each kit.

Both types of carrying case lanyards are electrically shielded; they can be worn around the neck and may be adjusted to carry the HD Electric V-Watch Pro Personal Voltage Detector at mid-torso height: the optimum position for detecting electrical fields and equipment. Please note that as the carrying case lanyards are electrically shielded, when the HD Electric V-Watch Pro Personal Voltage Detector is zipped up inside the case it will not be able to detect electrical fields effectively switching off the unit. 

As the user approaches energised equipment, the HD Electric V-Watch Pro Personal Voltage Detector will issue audible and visual alarms which increase in frequency the closer the individual gets to the electrical field. Typically an initial warning distance from a 4kV AC conductor is approximately seven feet (2.13m); warning distances increase as voltages increase. This pro version of the HD Electric V-Watch Personal Voltage Detector also includes a mute button.

To ensure correct functionality, this lightweight HD Electric V-Watch Pro Personal Voltage Detector encased in a rugged, protective housing is equipped with an integrated self-test and low battery indicator. The HD Electric V-Watch Pro Personal Voltage Detector is powered by a field-replaceable 9V battery.
