The HD Electric 3ID Three-Phase Cable Identifier is comprised of one sender and one receiver unit that can be used to determine the correct phases of de-energised and discharged overhead and underground cables.
The user can handle the sender and receiver units with or without gloves. Each unit is equipped with bright LED lights that indicate whether the sender and receiver are connected to the same phase on either end of the cable. The HD Electric Three-Phase Cable Identifier’s LED lights indicate when each phase has been detected and can also be used to determine when conductors have been shorted to neutral. The HD Electric 3ID Three-Phase Cable Identifier is able to detect all three phases simultaneously and any shorted phases.
Due to the HD Electric Three-Phase Cable Identifier’s high-test voltage (36V DC), it can be used to test cables of greater lengths; these instruments can verify the phases of cables that are up to seven miles long (minimum length of one mile).
The receiver and sender are both equipped with rugged, rubber housing and are each powered by a field-replaceable 9V lithium or alkaline battery. These units are supplied with a zipped carrying bag and large copper alligator clips with heavy-duty boots.
The HD Electric 3ID Three-Phase Cable Identifier is compact, lightweight and easy-to-use. It is optimised for determining all three cable phases simultaneously, as well as any shorted phases.
