HD Electric LV-PT Proof Tester for LV-5 Stray Voltage Detectors

The HD Electric LV-PT Proof Tester is a proving unit optimised for checking the correct operation of HD Electric’s LV-5 Stray Voltage Detectors.

The HD Electric LV-5 Stray Voltage Detector’s tip is held against the metal button on the HD Electric LV-PT Proof Tester. A low, non-lethal AC voltage is supplied to the LV-5 Stray Voltage Detector.

If the HD Electric LV-5 Stray Voltage Detector is functional it will indicate the presence of the supplied voltage via a flashing red light. Additionally, the illumination of the red light on the HD Electric LV-PT Proof Tester indicates that the battery is sufficiently charged.

Consistency is important when proving the HD Electric LV-5 Stray Voltage Detector. If this instrument is to be used whilst wearing gloves, those same gloves must be used during the proving of the HD Electric LV-5 Stray Voltage Detector. Similarly, the positioning of the HD Electric LV-PT Proof Tester and HD Electric LV-5 Stray Voltage Detector must be consistent, whether the units are handheld or the HD Electric LV-PT Proof Tester is placed in a holster.
