HD Electric PT-5000W High Voltage DC Leakage Tester

The HD Electric PT-5000W High Voltage DC Leakage Tester is designed for testing primary distribution voltage or secondary voltage equipment for faults and high leakage currents. It is only suitable for use on cables and equipment that have been verified as de-energised and discharged.

The user can program the HD Electric PT-5000W High Voltage DC Leakage Tester to issue a test voltage of either 500 VDC or 5000 VDC by pressing and holding the relevant pushbuttons on the unit’s front panel. To issue a 500 VDC test voltage the user needs only press and hold a single pushbutton, whereas two pushbuttons are pressed and held for the 5000 VDC range. The user can see which range has been engaged via the relevant LED indicators. This method of operation prevents accidental operation of the HD Electric PT-5000W High Voltage DC Leakage Tester.

When the 500 VDC test voltage is issued, the HD Electric PT-5000W High Voltage DC Leakage Tester’s High Leakage LED will light up when 1000µA of leakage current is detected. When the HD Electric PT-5000W High Voltage DC Leakage Tester is set to issue a 5000 VDC test voltage the High Leakage LED will illuminate when 100µA of leakage current is detected. The HD Electric PT-5000W High Voltage DC Leakage Tester’s LEDs are super bright.

This easy-to-use, portable, general-purpose insulation tester is lightweight and compact. It is equipped with large copper alligator clips with heavy-duty boots and a heavy-duty rubber insulated coiled test lead. The HD Electric PT-5000W High Voltage DC Leakage Tester is powered by a field-replaceable 9V lithium/ alkaline battery and features a low battery indicator and Auto Shutoff function designed to conserve the instrument’s power.
