The HD Electric HALO II True-RMS HV Digital Ammeter is an auto-ranging, digital ampere meter optimised for use on high-voltage power distribution systems. With a range of 0 to 2000A, the HD Electric HALO II True-RMS HV Digital Ammeter can be used to conduct spot-load studies at transformers and mid-span locations; additionally, this instrument is able to conduct phase-balance studies on primary and secondary lines.
The HD Electric HALO II True-RMS HV Digital Ammeter can be used to conduct true-RMS AC current measurements on systems with a voltage of up to 69kV (40kV line-to-ground) and may be used to check insulated cables. However, this instrument is not suitable for measuring shielded cables, such as concentric neutral.
As with the HD Electric HALO I True-RMS HV Digital Ammeter, this ampere meter can be purchased with a hook-style sensing head or a fork-style sensing head. The fork-style sensing head can be used to test conductors up to 2.75” (70cm) and is particularly useful for measuring overhead or underground systems. Alternatively, the hook-style sensing head can be used to measure conductors up to 2.3" (5.8cm).
The open-core design of the HD Electric HALO II True-RMS HV Digital Ammeter makes it capable of quickly and easily conducting measurements as it can be hooked over the end of the hotstick in order to determine the relevant reading.
This high-voltage, digital ampere meter includes Peak-hold and Track modes, allowing the user to tailor the ammeter to his/her requirements. The load-latching circuitry ensures that the HD Electric HALO II True-RMS HV Digital Ammeter will latch and lock onto the system’s peak current and will retain this value until the tester is reset. Alternatively, the Track mode allows the user to monitor continuous AC current changes.
Measurements are indicated on the HD Electric HALO II True-RMS HV Digital Ammeter’s decimal point, LCD display with a readout up to 199.9 amps.
Finally, this instrument is powered by a 9V lithium or alkaline battery and is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature for preserving the HD Electric HALO II True-RMS HV Digital Ammeter’s battery life.
This easy-to-use, digital, high-voltage ampere meter is ideal for determining true-RMS AC currents of power distribution systems.
