HD Electric EM Single-Stick Analogue Voltmeter – Choice of Model

The HD Electric EM Single-Stick Analogue Voltmeter can be used to measure AC and DC (through 1000Hz AC RMS) voltages from phase-to-ground. This instrument is available in three models with different ranges; please see the table below for further details.

Each of the HD Electric EM Single-Stick Analogue Voltmeters can be used on overhead lines and may be adapted, using accessory probes, to conduct measurements on underground systems. The HD Electric EM Single-Stick Analogue Voltmeter consists of one resistive probe with universal spline and a ground lead. The universal spline enables the HD Electric EM Single-Stick Analogue Voltmeter to be mounted onto hotsticks. This instrument is supplied with overhead brass hook contact probes.

The HD Electric EM Single-Stick Analogue Voltmeter’s coil cord is rated 10kV and has a length of 1.7m when retracted and 3.6m when fully extended. Other lengths, as well as a reel with a straight cord (6.7m) rated 15kV, are also available. To prevent damage to the cable at the points of the highest stress, the cord includes strain relief fittings.

Additionally, high-voltage resistors are encapsulated in epoxy in all resistor sticks, thereby limiting maximum current to approximately one milliamp at full rated voltage.

The HD Electric EM Single-Stick Analogue Voltmeter can measure voltages to an accuracy of 3% full scale. Readings are visible via the HD Electric EM Single-Stick Analogue Voltmeter’s easy-to-read, large, 7.6cm meter face with a Lexan protective cover. Multiple scale models reduce the possibility of misreads.
