HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator – Choice of Kits

The HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator is available as a standalone instrument or as part of a selection of kits; please see the ‘What’s Included?’ section for further details. As standard, the HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator has an operating frequency of 60Hz; however, a 50Hz version is also available.

The HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator is a single-point instrument that can be used to measure voltages between 0.1kV and 99kV line-to-ground on overhead and underground systems (underground bushing probe required). To this end, it is equipped with a universal spline for the attachment of standard hotsticks and is supplied, as standard, with an HD Electric HP-DVI-2 Overhead Hook Probe. This instrument is also suitable for performing measurements on transmission systems up to 161kV.

The HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator is auto-ranging and will indicate voltages on its large, 2.25” LED display which has been designed to ensure that it remains easy to read even when the unit is attached to a hotstick or used in bright or dark environments. The HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator’s LED display has a two-digit readout.

In addition to indicating the detected voltage via the display, the HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator will issue an audible alert when it detects a voltage equal to or greater than 100V AC.

As the HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator is auto-ranging it does not include a range selector switch or settings making it easy to use; the user needs only connect the HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator to the conductor and read voltages via the display. Via the voltage readout the user can determine whether detected potential differences are nominal or induced.

To ensure correct functionality the HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator is equipped with a self-test function. It also features an Auto Shutoff function which will turn the HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator off after three to four minutes of idleness, thereby extending the field-replaceable 9V lithium/ alkaline battery’s life.

Finally, the HD Electric DVI-100 Digital Voltage Indicator is encased within a compact, rugged and lightweight polycarbonate housing ensuring that it is suitable for use in challenging environments.
