Guide TK612 Gen2 Thermal Imaging Monocular (Track IR612)
The Guide Track 612 optimises the capabilities of Guide’s TK Gen2 Thermal Monocular for ecology applications. To this end, the TK612 includes a wide-angle 10mm lens, 640 x 480px IR detector, and 30mK thermal sensitivity. Patented image processing technology, such as 3DNR and PureIR adaptive filtering, delivers sharp, highly detailed thermal imaging even in complex scenes. The Guide TK612 Thermal Monocular also features a powerful 8x smooth zoom, pseudo-colour adjustment, multiple scene modes, and approximate ranging. A built-in laser indicator can determine the distance to targets up to 200m away; while an integrated illuminator ensures the Track 612 can be used in visually challenging environments. Videos and images may be recorded to the thermal monocular and/or streamed via Wi-Fi and Guide’s TargetIR App.
Imaging Modes & Palettes
Combining sharp IR capture with an eclectic array of imaging modes and thermal palettes, the Thermal Monocular ensures ecologists can identify and monitor subjects seamlessly. Switch between six colour palettes (White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot, Green Hot, and Adjustable Red Hot) at the touch of a button to highlight the target instantly, regardless of weather conditions. Similarly, scene modes can be used to give prominence to objects within the field of view:
- Natural mode: observe targets comfortably thanks to rich graduation
- Enhanced mode: draws attention to high-temperature subjects by increasing their brightness
- Highlight mode: highlights the lowest and highest temperature areas
Additionally, Picture-in-Picture mode allows ecologists to zoom in on subjects without losing the entire field of view.
Functions
The Guide TK612 supports other useful imaging features such as an Outdoor Lighting function for capturing visible light images and a Laser Indicating function for locating objects at distances of up to 200m.
Practical Design
Footage is visible on the Thermal Monocular’s 0.4-inch, 1280x960px, full-colour display. It delivers crisp, delicate imaging which improves observation comfort. Furthermore, an adaptive LCOS eyepiece prevents condensation and fogging guaranteeing ecologists always have a clear view of their subjects. Differential buttons ensure easy operation in total darkness while the Track 612’s rugged (1m drop-tested), IP66 design makes it suitable for use in challenging outdoor environments.
App Connectivity
The TK612 connects to Guide’s TargetIR App via Wi-Fi. Using this connection ecologists can stream live footage to colleagues or use their smartphone as a remote control.

Customer Review/Testimonial
"I jumped at the chance to get a 10mm Guide Track 612 thermal scope because I already own a 19mm Guide Track 19 and although I am very happy with its quality, its narrow field of view is a real drawback when surveying buildings as you need to position it really far back which is often impossible. I love how much of the building I can now get in the new 10mm [TK612] scope and the [following] photo shows a comparison between the two that I did by positioning the scopes side by side looking at the same building. You can see the 19mm only gets the corner in whereas the 10mm gets almost the whole building in. This will save so much time because I just have one camera to set up and 1 set of footage to review instead of two sets - it's a game changer!" ~ Jean Oudney, Myotis Bat Ecology
