The GES Gastec MK5 FID Hydrocarbon Gas Detector is a flame ionisation detector (FID), sometimes known as a flame ioniser monitor, optimised for rapid hydrocarbon/methane surveys and leak localisation. It is of particular use to landfill and utility sites requiring an effective method of detecting methane gas.
Equipped with an FID sensor, the GES Gastec MK5 can detect concentrations of hydrocarbons, specifically methane, between 1 and 10 000ppm in less than two seconds. In addition to pinpointing methane in landfill sites, the Gastec MK5 is ideal for finding leaks around valves, flanges, and originating from distribution pipes beneath roads.
Comprehensive data and event logging combined with a simple ‘drag and drop’ USB interface enable the creation of traceable surveys. The Gastec MK5 can log up to 5760 data points and 5760 events.
Integrated GPS also aids with the creation of traceable surveys, ensuring accurate reporting of leaks by assigning longitude, latitude, and sea level information to data. Moreover, as users can view their precise location, this makes directing backup crews for immediate leak management quick and easy.
Readings are indicated on an LCD screen. This display, combined with an intuitive interface and soft key technology, facilitates simple operation enabling full-sequence instruction, in-operation options, and service and calibration set-up and alerts.
A portable, durable (IP68) design means the GES Gastec MK Methane Detector can be carried on the shoulder to enable easy positioning around valves and flanges.
Supplied with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the MK5 Methane Detector delivers an operating time of approximately 22 hours. Enhanced electronic controls extend the battery and cylinder life.
The GES Gastec MK5 FID Hydrocarbon/Methane Gas Detector is supplied with your choice of 100ml or 400ml refillable hydrogen cylinder, delivering up to 60 hours of use (model dependent). Hydrogen and sample rates are managed by pressure and flow transducers.
The GES Gastec MK5 FID Hydrocarbon/Methane Gas Detector is an easy-to-use, efficient, ergonomic flame ionisation detector optimised for detecting methane in landfill and utility sites.
