The Fluke P3830 High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester has been designed to calibrate high-pressure sensing instruments such as transducers, transmitters, gauges and pressure switches, as well as other calibrators.
This tester is available in three models with differing pressure ranges and measurement units, for further details, please see the table below.
Product Code | Product Name | Pressure Range |
P3830-BAR | Fluke P3830-BAR High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester - 2000 bar | 40 to 2000 bar |
P3830-PSI | Fluke P3830-PSI High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester - 30k PSI | 500 to 30 000 psi |
P3830-MPA | Fluke P3830-MPA High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester - 200 MPa | 4 to 200 MPa |
These instruments are available with 0.02% accuracy OR 0.015% and can be calibrated to the user’s local gravity. Additionally, the set of weight masses supplied with this instrument may be trimmed in accordance with the user’s local gravity. These OPTIONAL alterations account for the localised gravitational pull on the weight masses. However, PLEASE NOTE that unless specified the Fluke P3830 High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester will be calibrated, and the weight masses will be trimmed, to standard gravity (980.665cm/s²).
The standard weight masses supplied with the Fluke P3830 High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester are constructed from series 3, non-magnetic stainless steel to ensure that they remain unaffected by the earth’s magnetic field. They are also marked with the instrument’s serial number and nominal pressure values relative to the high-pressure piston.
These weight masses are added to the piston in order to balance the upward force caused by the creation of hydraulic pressure. The inclusion of a high-quality hand-pump connected to a seven-to-one intensifier facilitates the user’s ability to create high hydraulic pressures within the unit. The Fluke P3830 High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester uses Dioctyl Sebacate (DOS) as the medium with which to create hydraulic pressure. The oil reservoir can be re-fuelled when calibrating large volume instruments. In order to determine the final pressure value, the nominal values on the weight masses are combined with the weight of the piston and cylinder assembly.
The piston and cylinder assembly includes a floatation indicator and is manufactured from tungsten carbide which ensures that it is able to provide extensive stability and durability, as well as low coefficients for temperature and pressure. Furthermore, the Fluke P3830 High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is supplied with an ISO/ IEC 17025 accredited calibration certificate.
Finally, in addition to its accuracy, simplicity-of-use and versatility, the Fluke P3830 High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is also practical and to this end includes a number of features which ensure that it can be quickly and accurately set up. These include a test-station design for the easy attachment of instruments-under-investigation, as well as adjustable feet and a level vial which allows the user to ensure that the tester is evenly balanced.
The Fluke P3830 High-Pressure Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is an accurate, cost-effective, easy-to-use solution to calibrating high-pressure sensing instruments.
Pressure Ranges | 500 to 30,000 psi, or 40 to 2,000 bar, or 4 to 200 MPa, or 40 to 2000 kgf/cm |
Accuracy* | Standard accuracy is 0.02% of Reading*. Optional accuracy of 0.015% of Reading is available. ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration is provided with each instrument. *Accuracy is based on % of Reading from 10% to 100% of the piston range when used in accordance with the corrections found on the calibration certificate. Below 10%, ± (accuracy class) x 10% of the piston range. See the “Guide for the Uncertainty Analysis in Pressure when Using P3000 Series Deadweight Testers” technical note for more information. |
