For a quick introduction to these testers, please see the video below.
The integrated hand-pump may be utilised to prime the deadweight tester before it is used. It also facilitates the Fluke P3123 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester’s ability to accommodate large volume requirements. Like the single pump models, the Fluke P3123 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester uses mineral oil in order to create hydraulic pressure; this pressure is created using the high-quality screw press which also facilitates fine pressure adjustments. During calibration, the user is able to monitor the level and quality of the oil as the reservoir is constructed from clear acrylic. Once a calibration has been completed, the remaining mineral oil may be drained quickly and easily via the built-in drain plug.
With the creation of hydraulic pressure, the piston will rise in the cylinder, this upward force is balanced using accurately calibrated weight masses. These weight masses are marked with the instrument’s serial number and the nominal pressure values relative to high- or low-pressure pistons. The final pressure value is calculated by adding together the relevant nominal pressure values on each of the weight masses placed on the piston. For further information regarding this method, please see the video below.
Weight masses are constructed from series 3, non-magnetic, austenitic, stainless steel and may be stored in a robust weight box with a self-locking mechanism, ensuring that they can be safely and securely transported between worksites.
Adding to this product’s ease of operation is its removable lid which allows the tester to be easily transported to, across and between worksites. Furthermore, the inclusion of adjustable feet and a mounted spirit level ensures that the operator is able to set up the Fluke P3123 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester accurately in a variety of environments. In addition to this, its test-station design with O-rings and the inclusion of 1/8 inch, 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch NPT or BSP female adaptors removes the need for PTFE tape and/or wrenches when attaching additional instruments.
As well as its practicality and ease-of-use, the Fluke P3123 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester has also been optimised for accuracy and as such includes a piston and cylinder assembly with floatation indicator that has been constructed in accordance with the highest standards. It has been designed to reduce the effects of distortion and thermal coefficients whilst maintaining the Fluke P3123’s stability and durability. Furthermore, the piston and cylinder assembly includes certified accuracies traceable to international standards laboratories, such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology).
In addition to this, the Fluke P3123 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is supplied with a traceable certificate of accuracy. It is also calibrated to standard gravity (980.665cm/s²). These features give the instrument a standard accuracy of 0.015% which may be improved to 0.008% via adjusting the set-up of the deadweight tester, for instance by calibrating it to the user’s local gravity.
The wide measurement range, accuracy and practical, easy-to-use design of the Fluke P3123 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester makes it suitable for calibrating an eclectic variety of pressure sensing instruments.
