For a quick introduction to these deadweight testers, please view the following video.
The Fluke P3116 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is supplied with spare seals and 1/8 inch, 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch NPT or BSP female adaptors. These adapters, combined with the Fluke P3116 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester’s test-station design with O-rings, remove the need for PTFE tape and/or wrenches when attaching additional instruments. Also adding to this instrument’s practicality is the inclusion of adjustable feet and a mounted spirit level, ensuring that the Fluke P3116 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester can be set up accurately in a variety of environments, including those with uneven terrain.
In addition to this, the piston and cylinder assembly with floatation indicator also adds to the Fluke P3116 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester’s precision. It is constructed in accordance with the highest standards and as such includes certified accuracies traceable to international standards laboratories, such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). The design of the piston and cylinder assembly has been optimised to lower distortion and thermal coefficients whilst maintaining the tester’s durability and stability.
The Fluke P3116 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is supplied with a traceable certificate of accuracy and is calibrated to standard gravity (980.665cm/s²). However, the Fluke P3116 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester may be calibrated to the user’s local gravity; thereby improving the standard accuracy of the instrument from 0.015% to 0.008% by accounting for the effect of this localised force on the weight masses.
Weight masses are added to the piston in order to counterbalance the upward force of the hydraulic pressure generated using mineral oil and the high-quality screw press. The weight masses added to the piston are all manufactured using series 3, non-magnetic, austenitic, stainless steel and are marked with both the instrument’s serial number and nominal pressure values relative to high- or low-pressure pistons. In order to determine the final pressure, the relevant nominal values marked on the weight masses placed that have been placed on the piston are added together. For further information regarding this process, please see the video below.
Once calibration is complete, the user is able to quickly and easily drain the mineral oil using the integrated drain plug. Moreover, the clear, acrylic reservoir allows the user to view the level and quality of the oil at all times.
Additionally, this instrument includes an integrated hand-pump which allows the user to prime the Fluke P3116 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester prior to calibration, as well as accommodate large volume requirements.
Finally, the Fluke P3116 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is supplied with a removable lid allowing the user to transport the instrument between worksites easily. This instrument is ideal for accurately, efficiently and simply calibrating a variety of pressure sensing instruments in a range of environments.
