The Fluke P3113 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is designed to calibrate pressure sensing instruments via the creation of hydraulic pressure and the addition of accurately calibrated weight masses. It is suitable for checking pressure transducers, transmitters, gauges and pressure switches. For a quick introduction to this product, please see the video below.
The Fluke P3113 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is available in four models which vary in regards to their pressure ranges and measurement units, for further information please see the following table.

This instrument operates by using mineral oil to create hydraulic pressure. Its high-quality screw-press facilitates this creation and allows the user to make fine pressure adjustments; the integrated hand-pump may be used to accommodate large volume requirements and prime the system. Throughout the creation of hydraulic pressure the user is able to view the level and quality of the oil via the clear, acrylic reservoir; furthermore, once the calibration has been performed the built-in drain plug allows the user to remove the mineral oil quickly and easily.
As pressure is created the piston is forced upwards in its cylinder. To balance this upward force, accurately calibrated weight masses constructed from series 3, non-magnetic, austenitic, stainless steel, are added to the piston. Each of these weight masses is marked with the instrument’s serial number and the nominal pressure values relative to high- or low-pressure pistons. Therefore in order to determine the final pressure, the relevant nominal values marked on the weight masses added to the piston are combined. Please see the video below for more information regarding this process.
The Fluke P3113 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester has been optimised for precision and as such is supplied with a traceable certificate of accuracy. It also includes a piston and cylinder assembly that has been constructed in accordance with the highest standards, ensuring that it has certified accuracies traceable to international standard laboratories, such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). The design of this piston and cylinder assembly with floatation indicator works to reduce the effects of thermal coefficients and distortion whilst maintaining stability and durability.
This product has a standard accuracy of 0.015% and is calibrated to standard gravity (980.665cm/s²). This accuracy may be improved to 0.008% via altering the set-up of the Fluke P3113 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester, for instance by calibrating the tester to the user’s local gravity. In doing this, the effect of the local gravitational pull on the weight masses is accounted for, thereby improving the instrument’s accuracy.
The Fluke P3113 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is not only optimised for precision but has also been designed for ease-of-use. It includes a test-station design with O-rings and is supplied with 1/8 inch, 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch NPT or BSP female adaptors. These features remove the need for PTFE tape and/or wrenches when attaching additional instruments. Also adding to this tester’s practicality is its adjustable feet and mounted spirit level, these features ensure that the tester may be set-up accurately on a variety of work surfaces.
Finally, both the Fluke P3113 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester and weight masses can be safely and securely transported between worksites due to the inclusion of a removable lid and robust weight box with a self-locking mechanism.
The Fluke P3113 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is an adaptable, accurate and easy-to-use pressure calibrator.
