Fluke ii905 Acoustic Imager

Fluke ii905 Acoustic Imager

The Fluke ii905 Acoustic Imager is an ultrasonic-imaging camera optimised for detecting and assessing compressed air, gas, steam, and vacuum leaks in compressed air systems, pipelines, and industrial equipment. The ii905 is the mid-range model in Fluke’s range of ii-Series Acoustic Cameras. Like its sister product the Fluke ii500, the ii905 features advanced leak detection technology that isolates leak sound frequencies and filters background noise. Consequently, the ii905 can be used during factory/business uptime, thereby reducing expensive downtime usually required for routine maintenance. Moreover, like ii500, the ii905 will create and overlay a SoundMap™ onto the corresponding digital image, allowing maintenance technicians to pinpoint leaks easily, efficiently, and effortlessly. The ii905 also builds on the capabilities of the ii500. It will calculate and display the leak size, leak rate, and estimated leak cost, as well as indicate the leak’s severity using a 1-10 LeakQ™ scale. This enables maintenance teams to make informed decisions when prioritising repairs. SoundMap™ digital images and additional data are indicated on the ii905’s large, seven-inch LCD, allowing professionals to see faults clearly. Videos and images may be tagged, annotated and saved to folders in the Fluke ii905 Acoustic Imager’s integrated memory. They may also be shared with team members and repair personnel using the ii905’s Reporting Tool and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Acoustic ImagingFluke ii905 Acoustic Imager - Back, Angled

The Fluke ii905 Acoustic Camera expands the ii500’s frequency and detection ranges. It can detect leaks between 2 and 65kHz from a distance of 70m. Automatic filtering of background noise means the Fluke ii905 can be used to conduct routine maintenance inspections during ongoing operations. This negates the need for expensive downtime, allowing businesses to maximise uptime and, therefore, productivity and profitability.

SoundMap™ Technology

An acoustic array of miniature microphones and a dedicated algorithm capture and convert ultrasonics sounds emitted by compressed, air, gas, steam, and vacuum leaks into a SoundMap™. Depending on the frequency range selected, the SoundMap™ will automatically adapt to filter out background noise. The SoundMap™ is superimposed onto a corresponding colour visual image captured by the ii905’s integrated 5MP digital camera. This allows maintenance teams to see and locate leaks clearly and in real-time.

LeakQ™ Assessment

In addition to visually representing acoustic leaks, the ii905 includes a distance-estimation algorithm that it uses to calculate leak size, rate, and estimated cost. Furthermore, like the ii500, the ii905 will indicate the severity of the leak using a LeakQ™  index. This makes assessing leak severity and prioritising repairs simple.Fluke ii905 Acoustic Imager - Front, Angled

User-friendly Design

The Fluke ii905 Acoustic Imager is built to be easy to use and requires minimal training to operate. It offers capacitive touchscreen operation and a seven-inch 1280 x 800px LCD screen. The Fluke ii905 makes scanning large areas, compressed air systems, and industrial equipment quick and simple.

Videos and images may be tagged to assets and locations as well as annotated with notes. They are saved to folders in the ii905’s 32GB memory and can be shared with relevant persons using the Report Tool and Wi-Fi interface.

Transform Leak Detection with the Fluke ii905 in 4 Easy Steps

  1. Locate: Quickly and easily scan areas to pinpoint sources of leaks
  2. Document: Capture screenshots that can be tagged and annotated
  3. Share: Send screenshots to your team to determine a maintenance schedule
  4. Repair: investigate the problem further during planned downtime and/or fix it

The Fluke ii905 Acoustic Imager is an easy-to-use, efficient ultrasonic camera perfect for effortlessly detecting and quantifying compressed air, gas, steam, and vacuum leaks.
