Fluke ii500 Acoustic Imager

Fluke ii500 Acoustic Imager

The Fluke ii500 Acoustic Imager is an ultrasonic-imaging camera specifically designed for locating gas and vacuum leaks in factories and other industrial environments. Featuring advanced acoustic leak detection technology, the Fluke ii500 isolates leak sound frequencies and filters out background noise allowing maintenance teams to identify and pinpoint leaks easily, efficiently, and effortlessly. This means the ii500 can be used to detect leaks during production hours, allowing teams to reduce costly maintenance downtime. Furthermore, utilising a new distance-estimation calculation, the ii500 will estimate relative leak size and cost, indicating the leak’s severity using a LeakQ™ severity index. This allows teams to prioritise repairs effectively. A SoundMap™ is overlaid onto a visible image. This is displayed on the Fluke ii500’s large seven-inch LCD enabling clear leak visualisation. Images and videos may be tagged, annotated, and saved in folders on the Fluke ii500. These can be shared with team members and repair personnel using the Reporting Tool.

Acoustic ImagingFluke ii500 Acoustic Imager - Back, Angled, showing off the array of microphones

Optimised for locating compressed air, gas, steam, and vacuum leaks, the ii500 can detect ultrasound within a frequency of 2 to 52kHz and has a detection range of 50m. It automatically filters out background noise, adding to the ease and efficiency with which teams can locate leaks. What’s more, this means the ii500 can be used to conduct maintenance inspections while operations are ongoing, allowing businesses to maximise uptime and, therefore, productivity and profitability.

SoundMap™ Technology

An acoustic array of miniature microphones sensitive to ultrasonic wavelengths generates a spectrum of decibel levels per frequency which are then converted into a SoundMap™ by the ii500's dedicated algorithm. The SoundMap™ is then superimposed onto the corresponding visual image (captured by the ii500’s 0.3MP inbuilt camera), allowing maintenance technicians to see leaks clearly and in real time. Furthermore, depending on the frequency range selected, the SoundMap™ will automatically adapt to filter out background noise.

LeakQ™ Severity Index

Additionally, the Fluke ii500 is equipped with a new distance-estimation algorithm. Consequently, the Fluke ii500 will calculate the size and cost of leaks to indicate their severity using a LeakQ™ severity scale (1-10), making it simple for teams to prioritise repairs.

User-friendly Design

SoundMap™ images are clearly visible on the Fluke ii500’s seven-inch 1280 x 800px LCD screen. Images and videos can be annotated with notes and tagged to locations. Subsequently, they may be saved to folders in the ii500’s integrated 20GB memory and/or shared with colleagues/relevant persons using the Reporting Tool.

Furthermore, the ii500’s simple but intelligent method of detecting leaks ensures all members of your maintenance/facilities management team will find it easy to use. It requires minimal training to operate and makes scanning large areas, as well as smaller components like hoses, fittings, and connections, efficient, effortless, and easy.

Transform Leak Detection with the Fluke ii500 in 4 Easy Steps

  1. Locate: Quickly and easily scan areas to pinpoint sources of leaks
  2. Document: Capture screenshots that can be tagged and annotated
  3. Share: Send screenshots to your team to determine a maintenance schedule
  4. Repair: investigate the problem further during planned downtime and/or fix it

The Fluke ii500 Acoustic Imager is an easy-to-use, efficient, and effective acoustic camera perfect for pinpointing compressed air, gas, steam, and vacuum leaks.
