There are several advantages to the process electronics version of Fluke 9142 Field Metrology Well:
Two-Channel Thermometer Readout
This facilitates the measurement of PRTs, RTDs, thermocouples and 4-20mA transmitters including a 24V loop supply to the power transmitter. This product accepts ITS-90 PRTs and contains reference PRTs with stored, individual calibration constants (located on the memory chip within the housing of the sensor) facilitating the user’s ability to use sensors interchangeably.
The second of the two-channel thermometer readout's channels can be customised to facilitate 2-, 3- or 4-wire RTDs, thermocouples, or 4-20mA transmitters. This feature ensures that it is practical, simple and easy to carry out comparison calibration in the field, without compromising on accuracy as the readout feature features an accuracy of between ±0.01°C and ±0.07°C depending upon the measured temperature.
Transmitter Loop Calibrations
The Fluke 9142-X-P-256 Field Metrology Well makes whole transmitter loop calibration (including the electronics and sensor) easy. This helps to reduce the 75% of transmitter errors caused by un-calibrated sensors. By placing the transmitter sensor in the well with the reference PRT and connecting the transmitter electronics to the front panel, the Fluke 9124-X-P-256 is able to both power and measure transmitter current, whilst simultaneously sourcing and measuring the resultant temperature in the filed metrology well. Through using this process the user is able to obtain as-found and as-left data.
On-Board Non-Volatile Memory
This feature allows the Fluke 9142-X-P-256 to function as a turnkey solution as it is able to document up to twenty tests. When recorded these tests can be assigned and alphanumeric name, and can be recorded with the following information: block temperature, reference temperature, UUT values, error, date and time. All of the recorded test information can be viewed on the field metrology well’s easy-to-read large LCD display or can be exported into a calibration report or ASCII file using the included Model 9930 Interface-It Software.
In addition to these extra features, the Fluke 9142-X-P-256, like the non-process electronics version does not compromise on EA criteria, such as accuracy, stability, axial (vertical) uniformity, well-to-well uniformity, loading and hysteresis, despite its compact size.
Similarly, it also has a range of -25°C to 150°C and takes only 15 minutes to cool to -25°C from 23°C and only 23 minutes to heat to 150°C from 23°C and features both auto and manual setup for automated thermostatic switch test procedure. The manual setup allows the user to customise ramp rate or add additional cycles, whilst the auto setup enables the quick running of a 3-cycle calibration procedure and provides the user with a final dead-band temperature. The auto-setup only requires the user to enter the nominal switch temperature.
Like the Fluke 9142-X-256 Field Metrology Well, the Fluke 9142-X-P-256 Field Metrology Well also has a full range display accuracy of ±0.2°C and new control technology which works to maintain performance even in extreme conditions, to that end this product also remains stable to ±0.01°C over its range. It is also supplied with IEC-17025 NVLAP accredited calibration certificate and features a stability indicator.
This product, like the non-process electronics version, is easy-to-use and includes pre-programmed calibration procedures which are easily accessible via the front panel, as are all the instrument’s inputs. Its function buttons and menu navigation buttons make the front panel easy to navigate, whilst its ‘SET PT’ button facilitates the fast and easy input of block temperature values.
Therefore the Fluke 9142-X-P-256 Field Metrology Well with Process Electronics and Selectable Disc is a comprehensive, practical, accurate and versatile alternative to dry well temperature calibrators.
