The Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator can be used to calibrate a range of non-contact, handheld, infrared pyrometers, including IR thermometers, at cold temperatures.
The inclusion of solid-state cooling technology provides the Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator with a temperature range of -30 to 150°C in ambient (23°C) conditions. In addition to this, the inclusion of a dry gas fitting on the front bezel prevents the build-up of ice on the blackbody target when the Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator is used at low temperatures.
These features also provide the instrument with a stability of ±0.1°C across its temperature range. The Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator is able to reach and stabilise at desired temperatures quickly:
- Heating time: from 25°C to 150°C in fifteen minutes
- Cooling time: from 25°C to -20°C in fifteen minutes
The user is able to adjust the temperature of the calibrator, or more specifically the blackbody target, in set-point increments of 0.1°C. The blackbody target included on this instrument has a diameter of 57mm ensuring that it is able to accommodate the field-of-view of most infrared thermometers, thereby increasing the instrument’s scope-for-use.
As well as improving the versatility of this instrument, the blackbody target also adds to the calibrator’s accuracy as it has an emissivity of 0.95 (±0.02%) and includes an RTD-reference well located behind the target ensuring that it can be reliably calibrated when needed. These features contribute to maintaining the Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator’s accuracy of ±0.4°C across its full temperature range.
In addition to versatility and accuracy, the Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator has been designed for ease of use. The user needs only perform the following steps:
1.) Use the front panel to set the required temperature
2.) Allow the Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator to heat/cool to the specified temperature and stabilise
3.) Point the instrument-under-investigation at the blackbody target
4.) Compare the temperature reading taken by the instrument-under-investigation to the reading displayed on the Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator
5.) Record differences between readings as necessary
The user is able to view temperatures in either °C or °F and can save information to the Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator’s eight set-point memory. The inclusion of an RS-232 interface and Fluke’s Model 9930 Interface-It Software also adds to the adaptability of this instrument. These components can be used together to configure the Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator via the operator’s PC.
Finally, the physical design of this instrument adds to both its versatility and practicality. It is compact, ergonomic and portable. It includes a hand strap allowing the instrument to be transported between worksites easily.
The Fluke 9133-256 Portable IR Calibrator is a versatile, practical and accurate temperature calibrator, ideal for use across a variety of environments.
