Fluke 9103-X-256 Below Ambient Dry Well Calibrator – Choice of Insert

The Fluke 9103-X-256 Below Ambient Dry Well Calibrator – Choice of Insert can be used to reach temperatures 50°C below ambient (23°C), giving it a typical temperature range of -25°C to 140°C (-13°F to 284°F). It is suitable for calibrating a wide variety of temperature probes.

This instrument is available in five variations which differ only in regards to their supplied disc inserts, allowing the user to select the model most suited to his/ her needs. Each disc insert includes differently sized wells to accommodate probes with various diameters; for further information, please see the table below.

The Fluke 9103-X-256 Below Ambient Dry Well Calibrator is able to match and exceed the temperature ranges of similar dry well calibrators on the market. Whereas most dry wells are capable of reaching 45°C below ambient temperature (typically equates to -20°C), the Fluke 9103-X-256 Below Ambient Dry Well Calibrator is able to reach 50°C below ambient temperature (-25°C), as mentioned above.

In addition to this, the Fluke 9103-X-256 can reach the desired temperatures quickly. For instance, from ambient (23°C) this instrument is able to reach the following temperatures in the following times:

  • 0°C – eight minutes
  • 100° -  six minutes
  • 140°C – eighteen minutes
  • -25°C – twenty minutes

This improves the instrument’s efficiency-of-use. Moreover, the Fluke 9103-X-256 Below Ambient Dry Well Calibrator is stable to ±0.02°C and has a display accuracy of ±0.25°C at all temperatures within its range.

Also adding to both the accuracy and efficiency of this instrument is its supplied NIST-traceable calibration and ability to be easily re-calibrated. In order to re-calibrate this instrument its case does not have to be opened, thereby reducing both the cost of maintenance and the instrument’s downtime; subsequently improving the user’s efficiency.

In addition to its versatility, accuracy and efficiency, the Fluke 9103-X-256 Below Ambient Dry Well Calibrator has also been optimised for practicality and ease-of-operation. To this end, it includes a front panel from which the heating and cooling rates can be adjusted and thermal switches can be checked for actuation testing.  In addition to this, the Fluke 9103-X-256 Below Ambient Dry Well Calibrator includes an RS-232 interface facilitating communication with the user’s PC.  Using this interface and the supplied Fluke Interface-It Software, the operator is able to adjust set points and ramp rates; record dry-well readings, saving the measurements to a file; collect data whilst performing a thermal switch test, and create an electronic strip chart.

Finally, the Fluke 9103-X-256 Below Ambient Dry Well Calibrator has been designed to be compact, lightweight and portable, making it suitable for applications within calibration laboratories and in-the-field.

The Fluke 9103-X-256 Below Ambient Dry Well Calibrator – Choice of Insert is an efficient, comprehensive, accurate and practical temperature calibrator.
