The Fluke 87V MAX True-RMS Digital Multimeter is IP67-rated; this rugged, waterproof, and dustproof DMM is ideal for industrial and facilities maintenance electricians working in outdoor, wet, dusty and/or hazardous locations.
The purpose of the Fluke 87V MAX True-RMS Digital Multimeter is to perform on-site troubleshooting regardless of the location. As such it has been designed to remain functional in outdoor environments with high levels of humidity and/or rainfall, on sites with high dust concentrations, and in areas that are dark and/or visually challenging. This separates the Fluke 87V MAX True-RMS Digital Multimeter from other DMMs that are often unable to deal with these challenging environments.
As mentioned above, the Fluke 87V MAX True-RMS Digital Multimeter has an IP rating of 67 and is housed in a completely sealed, industrial-strength casing and holster which has been drop-tested from 4m. This protects it from dust and water ingress as well as the potential drops and knocks often sustained in hazardous worksites. Furthermore, the Fluke 87V MAX True-RMS Digital Multimeter’s holster is reversible providing it with additional protection when it is not in use.
In addition to this, the Fluke 87V MAX True-RMS Digital Multimeter has an operating temperature range of -40°C (for up to 20 mins) to +55°C and a battery life double that of its predecessor, the Fluke 87V TRMS Digital Multimeter.
It also features a large display with a two-level, bright, white backlight and backlit function buttons to ensure ease-of-operation in dark or dim environments.
Moreover, the Fluke 87V MAX True-RMS Digital Multimeter has a safety rating of CAT IV 600V/ CAT III 1000V, again expanding its scope-for-use. It is able to withstand 8000V spikes caused by load switching and faults on industrial circuits.
The Fluke 87V MAX True-RMS Digital Multimeter can be used to troubleshoot circuit breakers, circuitry, switchgear, distribution boards, panel boards, starters, motors, VFDs, panels and motor controls. It has been designed to solve complex problems, such as those pertaining to VFDs, which are often beyond the capabilities of standard digital multimeters.

It also features an extended AC voltage bandwidth (15Hz to 20kHz) and a low-pass filter for accurate voltage and frequency measurements on adjustable speed motor drives and other electrically noisy equipment.
Furthermore, the Fluke 87V MAX True-RMS Digital Multimeter features a Relative mode designed to remove test lead resistance from low ohms measurements. It also includes a Hi-Resolution (20 000 counts) mode.
