The Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath – Process Electronics Optional is designed to calibrate multiple sanitary sensors and/or RTDs simultaneously. It is of particular use to facilities managers, production engineers and calibration technicians working in clean process industries and is particularly well suited to calibrating sanitary sensors and RTDs used in pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and food production process manufacturing plants.
The Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath – Process Electronics Optional is available in two models, one with process electronics and one without process electronics. The addition of process electronics facilitates the user’s ability connect an external reference probe to the calibration bath. In all other respects, the models are the same. Please see the table below for further details.
Product Code | Product Name | Process Electronics? | External Reference Probe Connectivity |
7109A-256 |
Fluke 7109A-256 Portable Temperature Calibration Bath - WITHOUT Process Electronics |
NO | An external reference probe CANNOT be connected |
7109A-P-256 | Fluke 7109A-P-256 Portable Temperature Calibration Bath - WITH Process Electronics | YES | An external reference probe CAN be connected. |
The design of the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath has been optimised to increase the speed with which sanitary sensors and RTDs may be calibrated, subsequently reducing the downtime of process manufacturing plants. This instrument includes a tank with a depth of 154mm and an opening of 122mm², this allows the user to calibrate a number of variously sized sensors simultaneously and it provides room for a reference thermometer. In addition to this, the calibration bath includes an adjustable probe fixture capable of holding up to four tri-clamp sensors securely in place during the calibration.
Also adding to the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath’s efficiency is its quick heating, cooling and stabilisation times. On average the calibration bath takes 10 minutes to stabilise and is able to heat and cool to the following temperatures in the following times:
- -25°C to 25°C in thirty-five minutes
- 25°C to 140°C in fifty-five minutes
- 140°C to 25°C in forty-five minutes
- 25°C to -25°C in seventy-five minutes
The Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath has a total temperature range of -25°C to 140°C, making it suitable for calibrating the following temperature sensor applications performed in clean process manufacturing:
- Pharmaceutical bioreactors (-10°C to 100°C)
- Steam-in-place process (122°C to 140°C)
- Autoclave sterilisation (120°C to 135°C)
- Food storage freezers (down to -25°C)
- Food processing (0°C to 140°C)
This calibration bath provides a viable alternative to micro baths and dry-block calibrators, especially as it includes a display accuracy of ±0.1°C which improves upon the accuracy of traditional micro bath and dry-block calibrators. This display accuracy accounts for all sources of errors such as calibration uncertainty, stability, uniformity and repeatability, allowing users to account for out-of-tolerance conditions. In addition to this, the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath includes a 4:1 test uncertainty ratio (TUR) for critical applications. Moreover, in order to ensure precise measurements, the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath has been constructed in accordance with Fluke’s high metrological standards and is supplied with an NVLAP accredited calibration.
During calibrations, the user is able to monitor the bath fluid temperature, set-point temperature and heating status via the colour display. The date and time can also be viewed via this display. The user can easily see when the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath is suitably prepared to conduct measurements, as when the bath fluid has reached the set-point temperature, the ready indicator will change from amber to green. Furthermore, the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath includes a control indicator for when the fluid has reached the set-point.
Once the bath fluid has reached and/or exceeded 60°C, a Hot Warning indicator will illuminate. This feature is designed to protect the user’s safety. The inclusion of an overflow tube also works towards this end; it can be used to drain the bath fluid quickly and when used with the OPTIONAL overflow container may be used to drain excess fluid in order to prevent fluid spills.
Also working to prevent accidental spills is the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath’s sealed lid, it contains the bath fluid while the calibrator is being moved. This instrument can be easily transported as a result of its lightweight design (20kg/ 44 pounds) and the inclusion of two recessed handles at the base of the bath and one fixed, non-rotating bail handle at the top. This top handle allows the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath to be carried single-handedly.
The lightweight, portable and relatively compact design of the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath makes it suitable for use in hard-to-access places, such as crawl spaces. Adding to this instrument’s versatility-of-use is its stainless steel casing, which protects the instrument against the effects of harsh chemicals used to maintain clean rooms in accordance with US FDA and ISO standards. Its keyboard is also sealed against moisture ingress and its decals, keypads and feet are constructed from synthetic materials which prevent the accumulation of bacteria. All these features make the Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath ideal for carrying out calibration applications in clean room environments.
The Fluke 7109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath – Process Electronics Optional has been optimised for versatility, efficiency and practicality. It is ideal for accurately and quickly calibrating sanitary temperature sensors and RTDs in clean room environments.
