The Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath can be used to calibrate up to four tri-clamp sanitary sensors, or a greater number of sanitary RTDs with small or no flanges, simultaneously. It is particularly well suited to calibrating sanitary sensors and RTDs used in pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and food production process manufacturing plants.
The Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath is available in two models which differ with regards to the inclusion of process electronics. Process electronics facilitate the user’s ability to connect an external reference probe to the calibration bath, in all other respects, the two models are the same. Please see the table below for further details.
Product Code | Product Name | Process Electronics? | External Reference Probe Connectivity |
6109A-256 |
Fluke 6109A-256 Portable Temperature Calibration Bath - WITHOUT Process Electronics |
NO | An external reference probe CANNOT be connected |
6109A-P-256 | Fluke 6109A-P-256 Portable Temperature Calibration Bath - WITH Process Electronics | YES | An external reference probe CAN be connected. |
The Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath includes an extensive temperature range, from 35°C to 250°C. This facilitates its ability to calibrate the following temperature sensor applications used in clean process manufacturing:
- Pharmaceutical bioreactors (to 100°C)
- Chemical reactors (up to 200°C)
- Steam-in-place process (122°C to 140°C)
- Autoclave sterilisation (120°C to 135°C)
- Food processing (up to 220°C)
As a result of the Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath’s 122mm² tank opening and tank depth of 154mm, it can be used to calibrate a number of variously sized sensors along with a reference thermometer. Furthermore, the inclusion of an adjustable probe fixture ensures that up to four tri-clamp sensors can be held securely in place throughout the calibration. Therefore this bath can be used to increase the efficiency of calibration processes by up to four times, subsequently decreasing the process manufacturing plant’s downtime.
Adding to this product’s efficiency is its quick heating, cooling and stabilisation times. Typically this instrument takes 15 minutes to stabilise and is able to generate the following temperatures in the following times:
- 35°C to 100°C in fifteen minutes
- 100°C to 250°C in forty-five minutes
- 250°C to 100°C in thirty-five minutes
- 100°C to 35°C in fifty-five minutes
In addition to this product’s efficiency and practicality, it has also been optimised to be more accurate than traditional micro baths and dry- block calibrators. Its display accuracy of ±0.1°C accommodates for all sources of error including calibration uncertainty, stability, uniformity and repeatability. This allows production engineers, for instance, to control out-of-tolerance conditions. For critical applications, the Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath provides the user with a 4:1 test uncertainty ratio (TUR). Moreover, this instrument is supplied with an NVLAP accredited calibration and it has been constructed in accordance with Fluke’s high metrological standards, ensuring that it is able to deliver precise measurements.
The Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath features a colour display allowing the user to view the date and time, as well as monitor bath fluid temperatures, set-point temperatures and the heating status. It also includes a control indicator for when the fluid is at set-point. When the bath fluid has reached the set-point temperature, the ready indicator will change from amber to green. This ensures that the user can clearly see when the Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath is ready to conduct measurements.
Further to this, the Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath also includes a hot warning indicator which illuminates once the bath fluid has reached and/or exceeded 60°C, working to preserve the safety of the user. Another safety feature present on this calibrator is its overflow tube which reduces the possibility of fluid spills which can cause possible safety hazards. This tube can be used with an OPTIONAL overflow container to drain excess fluid. It is also particularly well suited to removing bath fluid quickly.
Also adding to this calibrator’s practicality is its lightweight design (16kg/ 35 pounds). This coupled with its fixed, non-rotating bail handle makes it suitable for single-handed carrying, whilst the two recessed handles at the bottom of the bath ensure that it can be easily moved between work surfaces such as shelves and benches. The sealed lid prevents fluid spills while the Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath is in transit.
The portable, lightweight, lidded design of the Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath makes it suitable for use in hard-to-reach environments, such as crawl spaces. Its keyboard is also sealed against moisture ingress and the stainless steel casing of this instrument ensures that it is able to resist the effects of harsh chemicals used to sterilise equipment in clean rooms. Moreover, the Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath’s decals, keypads and feet are manufactured from synthetic materials which do not harbour bacteria. All these features make the Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath suitable for use in clean rooms maintained to meet US FDA and ISO standards.
The Fluke 6109A Portable Temperature Calibration Bath- Process Electronics Optional is ideal for the calibration of sanitary temperature sensors in clean room environments. This instrument is optimised for efficiency, accuracy and resilience; it is of particular use to facilities managers, production engineers and calibration technicians working in clean process industries.
