Fluke's 568 multipurpose thermometer is a combination testing instrument that can be used to carry out both infrared (IR) non-contact and full contact temperature measurements.
Ergonomically designed for maintaining a comfortable grip, the Fluke 568 is pistol-shaped, making using the point-and-shoot IR mode of the thermometer as easy as possible. The thermometer also includes a laser pointer which allows the user to pinpoint exactly which measurement point they'd like to evaluate.
The Fluke 568's IR mode can be used to measure the temperature of absolutely any surface safely and from a distance. Overall efficiency is decreased depending on how far the unit is from the target measurement point, but the tester is highly accurate and features distance to measurement spot ratio of 50:1. Once the measurement point is defined the Fluke 568 can then measure temperature from -40 to 800°C (-40°F to 1472°F).
Via the use of a type K thermocouple connection the Fluke 568 is also able to carry out full contact temperature measurements from -40 °C to 260 °C (-40 °F to 500 °F), allowing for more precise measurements of temperature when full contact is possible.
The Fluke 568 is a storage infrared thermometer and can store a large amount of testing data for recall either on the thermometer or for downloading to PC using Fluke's free FlukeView Forms software package. This extensive software allows users to interact with testing data for analysis purposes and includes a suite of advanced functionality for creating detailed reports quickly and easily.
