The Fluke 9132-256 Portable IR Calibrator can be used to calibrate above ambient, handheld pyrometers, including non-contact infrared thermometers. To this end, it has a temperature range of 50 to 500°C.
The Fluke 9132-256 Portable IR Calibrator has an accuracy of ±0.5°C to ±0.8°C, depending on the temperature generated. This ensures that infrared thermometers can be calibrated accurately, as does the inclusion of a 57mm-diameter blackbody target. This target has an emissivity of 0.95 (±0.02 %) and can be accurately calibrated via the RTD-reference well located behind the target. Its large target area ensures that the field-of-view of a majority of non-contact infrared thermometers are accommodated for, thereby increasing this instrument’s scope-for-use.
The temperature of the blackbody target can be precisely controlled and may be increased or decreased in set-point increments of 0.1°C. The Fluke 9132-256 Portable IR Calibrator is able to offer a stability of ±0.1°C and takes only a short while to heat or cool to the desired temperature:
- Heating time: from 50°C to 500°C in thirty minutes
- Cooling time: from 500°C to 100°C in thirty minutes
In addition to its accuracy and efficiency, this compact, ergonomic and portable instrument with a hand strap is also easy-to-use:
1.) Set the desired temperature via the front panel control buttons
2.) Wait for the Fluke 9132-256 Portable IR Calibrator to heat/cool to the desired temperature and stabilise
3.) Point the non-contact instrument-under-investigation at the blackbody target
4.) Compare the reading on the pyrometer to the reading on the Fluke 9132-256 Portable IR Calibrator’s display
5.) Record any difference in the readings
This instrument can be adjusted to suit the user’s needs and to this end includes an eight set-point memory and option to display readings in °C or °F. Its RS-232 interface facilitates the user’s ability to configure the instrument using his/her PC and the included Fluke Model 9930 Interface-It Software.
The Fluke 9132-256 Portable IR Calibrator is a simple-to-use, practical, accurate and reliable temperature calibrator, ideal for checking a variety of pyrometers, especially non-contact infrared thermometers.
