The Fluke 1586A/2HC Super DAQ with 2 High-Capacity Modules consists of three products:
- 1x Fluke 1586A Super DAQ
- 2x Fluke 1586-2586 High-Capacity Module
For a quick introduction to these products, please watch the following video.
The Fluke 1586A/2HC Super DAQ with 2 High-Capacity Modules is available in two versions which vary in regards to their mains voltage settings. See the table below for further information.
Product Code | Product Name | Mains Voltage Settings |
1586A/2HC 220 | Fluke 1586A/2HC 220 Super-DAQ with 2 High-Capacity Modules | 220V: 198V to 242V |
1586A/2HC 240 | Fluke 1586A/2HC 240 Super-DAQ with 2 High-Capacity Modules | 240V: 216V to 264V |
Unlike its sister product, the Fluke 1586A/1HC Super DAQ with 1 High-Capacity Module, this selection of instruments is supplied with two Fluke 1586-2586 High-Capacity Modules. Each of these modules can be configured to accommodate the necessary inputs for different tests and may be used interchangeably with the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ. This improves the efficiency of testing as the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s channels do not need to be re-configured with each new test. Furthermore, the test setup for each high-capacity module may be recalled from the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s extensive memory, again improving the efficiency of testing.
It is possible to measure thermocouples, RTDs, voltage, resistance and current simultaneously when using the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ with the Fluke 1586-2586 High-Capacity Module, as the module is able to accommodate a variety of input types.
The results garnered by these tests can be viewed via the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s colour display with a 6.5-digit resolution and/or may be saved to its extensive 20MB, non-volatile, internal memory (capacity for 75 000 time-stamped readings). All measurements saved to the Super DAQ are protected by two levels of data security which prevent unauthorised access and maintain data-traceability, making this instrument suitable for data acquisition applications regulated by governmental and/or agency standards.
Moreover, this instrument can be used with Fluke’s TQSoft and TQAero Thermal Validation Software (NOT included) to document results, create reports and provide complete qualification. These software programs can also be used as an audit trail management system, adding to the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s suitability for temperature data acquisition applications regulated by governmental and/or agency standards.
Data saved to the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s memory can be transferred to the user’s PC via a USB flash drive or via a network using a LAN interface connection. Once transferred, measurements may be viewed in a Microsoft Excel file.
However, the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s extensive display capabilities remove the need for a PC or charting programs in order to review test setups or analyse collected data. Readings can be viewed in two formats: tabular or graphical. The tabular display allows the operator to see all the available data for all the active channels. Graphical display facilitates the user’s ability to track trends and/or zoom in and out on particular data points. When using the graphical format up to four channels can be monitored, plotted and viewed simultaneously. The user is able to switch between these two formats as necessary.
In addition to this, the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ includes a Historical mode which allows the operator to view recorded data contained within a scan file in either the tabular or graphical formats. This is particularly useful for data analysis.
Further to this, the Fluke 1586A also includes a number of other testing modes, including:
- Scan: user-defined tests act as a template for scanning through the channels
- Monitor: allows the user to monitor a single channel throughout a scan without disturbing the operation
- Measure: allows the user to measure and record data for a single channel without a pre-configured test file
- DMM (digital multimeter): the front panel of the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ can be used as a digital multimeter in order to measure DC voltage, DC current and 2-wire/4-wire resistance without having to configure channels
The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ has a maximum measurement capacity of forty channels. HOWEVER; to measure DC voltage, DC current, resistance and temperature for up to forty channels the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ must be used with ADDITIONAL instruments such as the Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers. Models supplied with these additional instruments are available here:
- Fluke 1586A/1DS Super DAQ with 1 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer
- Fluke 1586A/2DS Super DAQ with 2 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers
- Fluke 1586A/DS-HC Super DAQ with 1 High-Capacity Module and 1 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer
This instrument can be set to a sample rate of up to ten channels per second and features an alarm function allowing the user to set upper- and lower-limit alarms for each active channel. Again these features work to improve the tester’s efficiency and ease-of-use.
The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ also includes a number of features designed to improve and maintain its accuracy including a Channel Offset Zero function and a current reversal feature which limits thermoelectric effects thereby improving the accuracy of PRT/RTD measurements. The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ is able to measure PRTs to an accuracy of ±0.005°C when used with the Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer (NOT included). When it is used with the included Fluke 1586-2586 High-capacity Modules, the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ can measure thermocouples to an accuracy of ±0.5°C. This data acquisition system can also measure thermistors to an accuracy of ±0.002°C.
This instrument can also be used with Fluke’s Dry Wells and Fluid Calibration Baths in order to perform sensor calibrations. Furthermore, the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s Automated Sensor Calibration function enables the data acquisition system and connected Fluke instrument to perform comprehensive calibrations unsupervised. The user needs only enter the following specifications:
- Number of temperature setpoints
- Values of the temperature set points
- Scan sequence (choose between linear, alternate or up/down)
- Assign a reference channel
- Set the required stability band
When the temperature source is deemed stable (as determined by the reference channel) the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ will gather the necessary data before continuing on to the next temperature set point. The user is free to conduct other tasks whilst the data acquisition system and connected Fluke instrument perform the sensor calibration, thereby improving his/her efficiency.
The versatility, sophistication, accuracy and comprehensive display and measurement functions available on the Fluke 1586A/2HC Super DAQ with 2 High-Capacity Modules make it suitable for the following applications:
- Process sensor calibration
- Temperature validation
- Thermal mapping
- Verifying process control
- Analysing interactive systems
- Ensuring conformance to quality standards
- Correlating related events for R&D or troubleshooting
Therefore these instruments are ideal for technicians, engineers and quality control personnel working within the pharmaceutical, food processing, aerospace and automotive industry sectors.
