For a quick introduction to these products, please see the video below.
The Fluke 1586A/2DS Super DAQ with 2 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers is available in two models which vary in regards to their main voltage settings; for further details please see the following table.
Product Code | Product Name | Mains Voltage Settings |
1586A/2DS 220 | Fluke 1586A/2DS 220 Super-DAQ with 2 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers | 220V: 198V to 242V |
1586A/2DS 240 | Fluke 1586A/2DS 240 Super-DAQ with 2 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers | 240V: 216V to 264V |
Unlike its sister product, the Fluke 1586A/1DS Super DAQ with 1 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer, this product is supplied with two Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers as oppose to one. This means that when they are used with the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ, the data acquisition system can be configured to measure temperature, DC voltage, DC current and resistance for up to forty channels. It can be set to a sample rate of up to ten channels per second.
The Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer allows thermistors, thermocouples and PRTs to be connected to the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ and as such includes a number of input connections. The Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer includes mini-jack thermocouple terminals with reference junction sensors, as well as mini-DWF, gold-plated input terminals which are compatible with bare wire, spade lug and mini-banana-plug terminations. This instrument has also been ergonomically designed and can be stacked on top of the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ in order to save on laboratory space. As such this combination of instruments is particularly well suited to performing benchtop temperature calibrations.
Alternatively, the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ can also be used with Fluke’s Dry Wells and Fluid Calibration Baths in order to perform automated sensor calibrations. Its Automated Sensor Calibration function works to improve user efficiency as he/she is able to leave the Super DAQ to perform a sensor calibration unsupervised once a few specifications have been entered into the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s setup:
When performing these calibrations, the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ gathers information for each set point once a stable temperature source has been determined (the instrument uses the specified reference channel to ascertain when a stable temperature has been reached), before continuing to the next set point. This allows the user to complete other tasks in the meantime.
Due to the versatility and sophistication of this instrument, its scope-for-use is not limited to temperature calibration. It can be configured to perform a number of applications including:
This makes the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ ideal for technicians, engineers and quality control personnel, particularly those working in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food processing, aerospace and the automotive industry sectors.
This instrument includes a number of features, functions and modes optimised to perform comprehensive and accurate measurements. For instance, the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ includes a current reversal feature designed to minimise the effects of thermoelectricity and thereby improve the accuracy of PRT/RTD measurements. The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ is able to measure thermocouples, thermistors and PRTs to the following accuracies:
Further to this, the Fluke 1586A includes MAX + B; Channel Offset Zero, and Alarm functions. The alarm function can be used to set user-defined upper and lower alarms for each active channel.
The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ also features five modes:
The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s colour display includes a 6.5-digit resolution for DC voltage, DC current and resistance measurements. Moreover, all the data for all the active channels can be viewed simultaneously in a tabular format. Alternatively, the user can monitor, plot and view data for up to four channels via a graphical display. Using the graphical display the operator can zoom in and out on data points and can monitor trends. The extensive data display capabilities of this instrument remove the need for a PC and charting programs in order to conduct data analysis.
However, this instrument is compatible with Fluke’s TQSoft and TQAero Thermal Validation Software (NOT included). These software programs are ideal for those performing temperature data acquisition applications regulated by governmental and/or agency standards. These programs may be used to document results, create reports, provide complete qualification and can be used as an audit trail management system.
Furthermore, the user is able to transfer data and setup files to a PC using a USB flash drive or via a network using a LAN interface connection. Data can be viewed in a Microsoft Excel file on the user’s PC.
The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ is capable of saving 75 000 time-stamped readings to its 20MB, internal, non-volatile memory. This data’s traceability is preserved using dual level data security which prevents unauthorised access to saved data. As a result, this instrument is suitable for applications regulated by government and/or agency standards.
The Fluke 1586A/2DS Super DAQ with 2 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers can be configured to accommodate a variety of applications. It is a sophisticated, practical instrument with a comprehensive array of measurement capabilities. This combination of one Fluke 1586A Super DAQ and two DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers is particularly well suited to benchtop temperature calibrations, although they may be used to perform multi-channel data-logging tasks.
