The Fluke 1586A/1DS Super DAQ with 1 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer consists of two products: a Fluke 1586A Super DAQ and a Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer. For a quick introduction to these products, please see the following video.
This product is available in two models which vary in regards to their mains voltage setting, for further information, please see the following table.
Product Code | Product Name | Mains Voltage Settings |
1586A/1DS 220 | Fluke 1586A/1DS 220 Super-DAQ, 1 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer | 220V : 198V to 242V |
1586A/1DS 240 | Fluke 1586A/1DS 240 Super-DAQ, 1 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer | 240V: 216V to 264V |
The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ is a data acquisition system that can be used to scan and record temperature, DC voltage, DC current and resistance. It is suitable for measuring thermocouples, PRTS and thermistors to a high accuracy:
The accuracy of PRT/RTD measurements is improved due to the inclusion of a current reversal feature which minimises thermoelectric effects.
The included DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer can be used to facilitate a connection between the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ and thermocouples, thermistors and PRTs. It includes mini-jack thermocouple terminals with reference junction sensors, as well as mini-DWF, gold-plated input terminals capable of accepting bare wire, spade lug and mini-banana-plug terminations. The Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer can be stacked on top of the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ, adding to the practicality of these instruments and making them ideal for benchtop temperature calibration in calibration labs.
The Fluke DAQ-STAQ includes twenty input channels; whilst this product is supplied with a single Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer, there is an option to purchase the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ with two Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers, available here. When used with two Fluke DAQ-STAQ Multiplexers this Fluke 1586A Super DAQ is able to reach its full measurement potential as it can be configured to measure up to forty input channels. The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ has a sample rate of up to ten channels per second.
Alternatively, the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ may be connected to Fluke’s Dry Wells or Fluid Calibration Baths via an RS-232 interface in order to perform comprehensive sensor calibrations. This is made possible by the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s Automated Sensor Calibration function. The user needs only enter the following information:
Using the reference channel to monitor the temperature source’s stability, the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ will collect the necessary data for each channel once a stable temperature has been determined, before continuing to the next temperature set point. This improves user efficiency as he/she is free to perform other tasks whilst the instrument conducts the sensor calibration automatically.
These calibration capabilities make the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ suitable for process sensor calibration applications. In addition to this, its extensive measurement and monitoring capabilities ensure that it is suitable for applications such as temperature validation and thermal mapping, making it ideal for use in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food processing, aerospace and automotive industries. This instrument is also suitable for technicians, engineers and quality control personnel who require an instrument to verify process control, analyse interactive systems, ensure conformance to quality standards and/or correlate related events for R&D or troubleshooting. As such this instrument includes an eclectic variety of measurement functions.
The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ includes a MAX + B scaling and channel offset zero function, as well as an alarm function which enables the user to set two independent, user-defined upper and lower alarms for each channel.
The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ also features four modes:
The measurements and statistics acquired by the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ are viewable in either a tabular or graphical format. All the data for all the active channels can be viewed simultaneously in a table via the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ’s colour display. Alternatively, the user is able to chart and view the data for up to four channels in a graphical format via the colour display. Viewing information in a graph allows the user to monitor trends as well as zoom in and out on data-points- of-interest. The user can alternate between the tabular and graphical formats and can also use the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ to view historical data, contained within a scan file, in either of these formats. History mode facilitates this capability and removes the need for a PC or expensive charting programs in order to review test set-ups or analyse data.
Nevertheless, this instrument is compatible with Fluke’s TQSoft and TQAero Thermal Validation Software (NOT included). These programs can be used as an audit trail management system, as well as to document results, create reports and provide complete qualification. It is particularly useful for those performing temperature data acquisition applications that must be compliant with government standards.
A USB flash drive or network using a LAN interface connection can be utilised to transfer data to a PC, should this become necessary. Once transferred to a PC the data may be viewed in a Microsoft Excel file. The Fluke 1586A Super DAQ has a 20 MB, onboard, non-volatile memory capable of saving up to 75 000 time-stamped readings.
Data stored to the Fluke 1586A Super DAQ is protected by two levels of data security which prevent unauthorised access, again making this instrument suitable for applications regulated by government standards as data-traceability is preserved.
The Fluke 1586A/1DS Super DAQ with 1 DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer is a comprehensive, sophisticated, versatile instrument that can be configured to suit a number of applications. It is ideal for temperature calibration applications, although it is also capable of functioning as a multi-channel data-logger.
