The Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester & IR3000FC Connector combines the Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester with a Fluke IR3000FC Fluke Connect Connector allowing the user to wirelessly log, view and trend measurements. This is particularly useful when conducting insulation tests on high-voltage equipment, such as switchgear, motors, generators and cables, as the user can stand at a more remote and safe distance.
As mentioned above, the Fluke IR3000FC Fluke Connect Connector facilitates a connection between the Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester and the Fluke Connect App. It fits over the Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester’s IR port and can be upgraded via USB.
In addition to viewing real-time readings from a remote location, the Fluke Connect App can be used to start and stop tests, allowing the operator to remain in a safe area throughout the measuring period. Readings can be saved to a smartphone or tablet with the Fluke Connect App installed: the user can maintain an audible data trail without the paperwork.
Furthermore, the operator can use this app to analyse measurements, as well as send data to relevant persons from the field. The user is able to view Trendit™ graphs for timed PI: DAR ratio tests allowing him/her to identify moisture, and contaminated insulation problems faster. Moreover, this app’s temperature compensation feature allows the user to establish accurate baselines and relevant historical comparisons.
The Fluke Connect App is a simple-to-use and sophisticated wireless system designed for recording and trending real-time and historical data, allowing the user to identify degradation over time and affect the necessary changes in the field. It enables remote monitoring, paperless record management, and real-time and/or collaborative decisions, thereby improving work efficiency as well as user safety. It is ideal for troubleshooting, commissioning, and preventative or predictive maintenance applications.
The Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester can measure insulation resistance up to 2TΩ and features a maximum test voltage of 10kV. It supports all the test voltages specified in IEEE 43-2000. The Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester features selectable test voltages in increments of 50V between 250V and 1000V, and selectable test voltages in 100V increments above 1000V. To ensure accuracy when determining high-resistance measurements, the Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester features a Guard System which eliminates the effect of surface leakage current.
In addition to insulation resistance, the Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester is able to measure capacitance and leakage current and can perform automatic Dielectric Absorption (DAR) and Polarization Index (PI) calculations without additional setup. It also includes a Ramp function for breakdown testing, as well as timer settings (up to 99 minutes) for timed tests.
Readings are visible via the large digital/ analogue LCD display which indicates the measurement both numerically and on a graph. When the Warning function is triggered, the Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester will indicate the value of the line voltage that is present (up to 600V AC/DC). This Warning function works to improve user safety as he/she can ascertain whether a voltage is present prior to testing. The unit itself has a safety rating of CAT IV 600V.
Finally, the Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester is capable of performing up to 750 tests between battery charges. This long battery life, combined with its extensive testing capabilities, safety features and Fluke Connect compatibility, makes the Fluke 1555 Insulation Resistance Tester & IR3000FC Connector Kit ideal for troubleshooting applications, as well as preventive and predictive maintenance applications.
