Ideal for testing various types of high voltage equipment such as switchgear, motors, generators and cables, Fluke's 1550C is used for accurately measuring insulation resistance up to 1TΩ with selectable testing voltages of 250V, 500V, 1000V, 2500V and 5000V.
This tester can also be used to carry out leakage current measurements from 1nA to 2mA and capactiance measurements from 0.01μF to 15μF. The tester can automatically calculate Dielectric Absorption (DAR) and Polarisation Index (PI) with no additional setup needed.
One of the most useful features of the Fluke 1550C is actually its portability - many other similar testers are big and bulky, while the Fluke 1550C is handheld, portable and ideal for use out in the field. It's also uniquely designed for a comfortable grip and includes a large-size LCD screen that makes it easy to read all testing results.
The Fluke 1550C also includes built-in memory with 99 memory locations, allowing testing records to be stored with unique, user defined labels for easy recall after testing is finished. Testing results are shown on the large-size LCD screen on the front of the tester which includes both digital and analogue display for comprehensive result analysis.
Other functions of the Fluke 1550C include a guard system for filtering out the effects of surface leakage current, a ramp function and a voltage warning when line voltage is present.
