The Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer can be used to measure, graph and record PRTs, thermistors and thermocouples. It has an extensive temperature range and includes three sensors in order to facilitate these measurement capabilities:
This instrument has a standard sample rate of one reading per second; however, when used in Fast Mode this increases to one reading per 0.3 seconds. The user is able to save up to twenty-five readings with statistics to the Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer. Alternatively, this instrument can be used with the included Fluke 9940 Toolkit Software, via its RS-232 interface, in order to log and organise data. This software can also be used to adjust and create probe configurations, as well as send commands to the Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer.
In addition to this, the Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer includes an INFO-CON memory chip to which probe configurations may be saved. The thermometer, which is able to accommodate PRT/RTDs, thermocouples and thermistors, is able to identify the connected probe automatically and will subsequently recall the corresponding calibration information, thereby facilitating accurate measurements and/ or temperature conversions.
Further to this, it is possible to lock probes to specific channels (using a password) in order to maintain system calibration traceability.
Also working to maintain this instrument’s accuracy is the inclusion of precision resistors and a highly stable reference voltage source. These features maintain the accuracy of the Fluke 1523-256 in spite of surrounding temperatures. The Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer has been subjected to tests in extreme temperatures and harsh vibrations in order to ensure it remains functional and accurate in challenging environments.
Moreover, this instrument utilises a current reversal technique which removes thermal EMFs, again contributing to the accuracy of this instrument.
Measurements and graphs (scaled and plotted in real-time) are viewable via the Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer’s 128 x 64-pixel backlit, LCD display. The Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer also includes a function button for altering the resolution of the graph. This allows the user to monitor processes over time, as well as determine temperature stability quickly and without the use of statistics.
In terms of its practicality, the Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer can be powered by three AA batteries for up to twenty hours. It may be used with the included DC adapter in order to maintain operation in between charges. Furthermore, the inclusion of power-saving settings also works to extend the instrument’s operating time.
The Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer is a practical, versatile, adaptable and accurate temperature measurement tool. It is ideal for serving as a temperature reference when used with bath calibrators, dry-block calibrators, thermowells, clean rooms, engines, heat exchangers, furnaces and freezers. It is particularly well suited to calibration, loop checking, plant start-up, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair applications.
The Fluke 5628 Secondary Standard PRT Probe is nominally 25.5Ω, has a temperature range of -200°C to 661°C and an accuracy of between ±0.006°C and ±0.022°C, depending on the temperature.
The Fluke 5628 Secondary Standard PRT Probe is supplied with an accredited calibration including ITS-90 constants and a resistance-versus-temperature table.
This instrument is ideal for when the operator is using temperature points above 420°C (normal PRT temperatures) and has been optimised to reduce the risk of contamination, through the inclusion of internal protection, whilst not affecting performance. It is ideal for serving as a working and/or check standard for calibration work up to aluminium point.
The Fluke 5628 Secondary Standard PRT Probe is an accurate temperature probe with an extensive measurement range; it is suitable for a number of calibration applications.
The Fluke 2373-LTC Lemo to Universal Thermocouple Adapter facilitates a connection between the Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer and any thermocouple with a mini thermocouple jack.
This adapter supports reference junction compensation and includes its own precision thermistor. The Fluke 2373-LTC Lemo to Universal Thermocouple Adapter is ideal for extending the capabilities of the Fluke 1523-256 1-Channel Handheld Thermometer.
