The Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer for PRTs can be used to read PRTs (Platinum Resistance Thermometers), including 100Ω, 25Ω and 10Ω probes.
It has a temperature range of -200°C to 962°C with an accuracy that ranges from ±0.004°C to ±0.024°C depending on the temperature. The Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer also has a resolution of 0.001°C across its entire range.
In order to maintain the linearity and accuracy of this thermometer, it has been equipped with a front panel which allows the user to enter the constants and coefficients of the probe-under-investigation. Via this front panel the user is also able to choose between the measurement units °C, °F and K, or may select to view the resistance measurement in Ω.
The user is also able to calibrate the Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer using the buttons located on the instrument’s front panel. Additionally, the Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer is supplied with a calibration report.
In terms of its functionality, the Fluke 1502A-256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer determines the temperature of the PRT through converting the measured resistance into a temperature reading using its integrated algorithms.
This instrument is capable of reading IEC-751 and “385” ALPHA RTDs without requiring the user to program the thermometer. However, in order to improve accuracy, it is possible to enter the R0 and ALPHA information for the probe-under-investigation.
Further to this, the Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer includes integrated ITS-90 formulas and can accept PRTs with the subranges 4 and 6 to 11. In order to utilise these programmed ITS-90 formulas, the user needs only enter the relevant coefficients into the Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer via the front panel.
The Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer is available in two models, which vary only in regards to their interfaces. As standard the Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer comes with an RS-232 interface which facilitates the user’s ability to conduct automated temperature data collection, calibrations and process control functions. However; it is possible to order this model with an IEE-488 interface. For further information, please see the following table.
Product Code | Product Name | Interface Type |
1502A-256 | Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer for PRTs - Standard RS-232 Interface | RS-232 |
1502A-2506-256 | Fluke 1502A-2506- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer for PRTs - IEE-488 Interface | IEE-488 |
It is also possible to use these models in conjunction with Fluke’s 9934 LogWare Software (NOT included) in order to perform real-time data acquisition, as well as analyse collected data graphically and/or statistically. Alternatively, the Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer can be used with Fluke’s MET / TEMP II Software (NOT included), allowing it to serve as a reference thermometer.
Finally, this compact instrument can be powered using Fluke’s 9320A Battery Pack (NOT included) in order to provide the user with up to 36 hours of functionality between charges. This expands the Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer’s scope-for-use, allowing it to remain operational in areas without a power supply.
The Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer for PRTs is an easy-to-use, adaptable and accurate temperature calibration instrument.
The Fluke 1502A- 256 Tweener 1-Channel Thermometer for PRTs is part of Fluke's series of 150X Tweener 1-Channel Thermometers; please find the technical specifications for all the models included in this series.
