The FLIR Si2x-LD HazLoc Acoustic Imaging Camera is an ultrasonic imager specifically designed for locating compressed air and gas leaks in Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust) hazardous areas. To this end, it is equipped with advanced leak detection technology with automatic tuning and an 8x zoom. Additionally, the Si2x-LD features mechanical fault analysis, allowing maintenance teams to spot mechanical bearing faults early and thereby minimise downtime and repair/maintenance costs. Practically, the Si2x-LD includes fleet management functionality and supports Cloud data integration and OTA (over-the-air) software updates, ensuring it can be easily integrated into your existing fleet of maintenance tools.

Acoustic Imaging
The FLIR Si2x-LD HazLoc Acoustic Imaging Camera converts ultrasonic sound emitted by leaks or faulty mechanical bearings into a soundmap which is overlaid onto a corresponding digital image (captured using the integrated 12MP colour camera), allowing mechanical technicians to pinpoint sources of leaks. Images and data may be saved to the supplied 128 GB SD card. The Si2x-LD is equipped with 124 microphones capable of detecting ultrasonic frequencies between 2 and 130 kHz from up to 200m from the source. It will automatically tune to the correct frequency.
Advanced Leak Detection
In addition to locating compressed air and gas leaks, the FLIR Si2x-LD will estimate the size, rate, and cost of the leak, enabling teams to make informed maintenance decisions. The Si2x-LD ultrasonic imager can be used to locate and assess compressed air, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, methane, natural gas, helium, argon, ammonia, nitrogen, and steam leaks.
Mechanical Fault Analysis
The Fluke Si2x-LD’s Mechanical Fault mode utilises three measurement metrics and filter optimisation to find critical mechanical issues, such as bearing faults. This means maintenance teams can detect mechanical defects earlier enabling them to take action sooner, thereby reducing expensive downtime and repair costs.
