FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular - Choice of Model

The FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular is a thermal imaging monocular specifically designed for law enforcement professionals. This handheld, rugged and high-performing IR monocular is capable of geotagged video recording and encrypted video streaming, making it ideal for coordinating and documenting pursuits, evidence recovery, and search and rescue operations. The FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular’s FLIR Boson™ thermal core provides advanced image processing while its refresh rate of 60Hz means it is able to capture smooth, unwavering footage. The FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular is suitable for use in all light conditions from complete darkness to glaring light to lingering haze.

The FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular also features a range of selectable thermal palettes and a Picture-in-Picture mode which allows the user to zoom in on details in the distance without losing the overall field of view. There are four versions of the FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular available. These models vary in regards to their lens sizes and fields-of-view; please see the table below for further details. 

FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular models with a 25mm or 36mm lens (PTM336, PTM366 and PTM466), are equipped with a manual focus ring which allows the user to achieve higher levels of clarity. Thermal footage can be encrypted and streamed to the command centre via a wireless network. Additionally, the FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular is compatible with FLIR TruWITNESS®. When paired with this platform, the FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular is linked with ground and air smart sensors to provide comprehensive situational awareness and real-time centralised information at the command centre. This is especially useful for public safety agencies.
