Made for use by firefighting professionals, the FLIR K55 helps firefighters to work safer, faster and more efficiently in time-critical situations. With a thermal camera as part of your kit, you'll be able to spot the body heat of trapped people, automatically detect the hottest parts of a fire, plan your strategies for fire attacking and use the camera to see through obscuring smoke.
The main difference between the K55 and the K45 is the resolution; this camera has higher resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, meaning every image is more detailed than those taken with the K45. This camera is also the only one of the two units which includes on-board video recording capabilities (non-radiometric), which can be stored in the camera's flash memory and downloaded at a later time.
As standard, the FLIR K55 includes FLIR's FSX, a unique mode which vastly enhances the level of detail in a thermal image. In real-time applications, this difference in image quality gives firefighters the tools they need for spotting dangerous objects, or even the outlines of obscured trapped people.
Here's an example of the difference FLIR FSX makes (standard IR on left, FSX-enabled on right).
FLIR has updated the Kxx-Series Thermal Cameras to improve the precision and speed of critical decision-making. First responders will benefit from:
These enhanced features work together to provide more efficient navigation and orientation in low and non-visibility areas and prevent user disorientation As a result firefighters can deliver more efficient and safe search and rescue operations, as well as faster fire location.
FLIR also offer the following additional accessories for this camera, which are sold separately.
