Thermal imaging for firefighters just got more affordable - introducing the FLIR K2, a simple-to-use rugged and reliable thermal camera specifically designed for use by firefighting professionals.
Pistol-shaped for comfortable, quick use when out in the field, the FLIR K2 is ideal for spotting fire distribution, heat given off by those trapped in a fire (it can even see through smoke) and other applications such as helping firefighting professionals see where they're going in dangerous conditions.
The K2 is specifically designed for ease of use. It has a single button which can be easily operated by firefighters even when wearing heavy protective gloves. When in sleep mode, the camera is ready to use within ten seconds, allowing you to work faster in environments that demand a quick response.
This thermal camera comes with FLIR's MSX mode. This unique mode, exclusive to FLIR, uses the combined powers of the thermal lens and built-in digital camera to create thermal images with extra levels of detail. In practice, this makes it significantly easier to make out details of objects, people and other hazards in your working environment. Please see the following video for further information.
Worried about the camera getting damaged? No problem - the K2 is built tough with 2-meter drop proofing onto a concrete surface, water resistant to IP67 standards and is fully operational up to +260°C (for up to 3 minutes).
