FLIR ETS320 Thermal Imaging System for Electronics Testing
The FLIR ETS320 is a non-contact thermal imaging system designed specifically for use in product testing, scientific research and for educational use, combining together a high-sensitivity thermal imager from FLIR with an integrated stand, ideal for looking at even the smallest components, performing critical analysis of printed circuit boards and other small electronics just got significantly easier.
No More Thermocouples and RTDs
Using thermocouples and RTD temperature sensors to determine whether your components are working correctly may be a traditional route, but it certainly isn’t an efficient one. With thermocouples and RTD sensors, you can simply focus on measuring from specific points, with no idea how the whole component or circuit board is operating unless using a multiple-sensor system.
With the FLIR ETS320 thermal imager, you can visualise the entire section you want to test and hone in on specific temperature points. At a glance, you can tell which components are outputting excessive amounts of heat and then adjust the camera as needed to measure specifically on that spot.
The ETS320 produces fully radiometric imagery – every individual pixel in the image displayed is assigned its own temperature reading, complete with exceptionally accurate results within ±3°C and high thermal sensitivity to spot even the most minor temperature differences. Fully dynamic infrared radiometric video streaming can also be sent directly to a PC running FLIR Tools+ software (included as standard) for real-time analysis.
Reduce Testing Times and Improve Product Design
You’ll be amazed at the difference it can truly make to your electronic designs as it gives you the ability to visualise all of the board/components at once, you can see exactly where the inefficiencies lie, helping you to improve your product designs and produce more efficient electronics that are better for your company and your customers. It will also drastically reduce your testing time, ensuring you spend less time figuring out where to attach sensors and more time simply looking at where the problems are.
In educational environments, it is ideal for teaching students not only about thermal properties and infrared radiation, but also as a means of explaining how components overheat, how to spot these problems and how to take action to improve upon components which may not be as efficient as possible.
Hands-Free Benchtop Work
The FLIR ETS320 thermal imaging system comes as standard with a microscope-style stand that gives you completely hands-free thermal analysis on your workbench. It has an adjustable height feature for zooming in on components and a quick, easy setup. The viewing screen is built directly into the side of the ETS320, making viewing as comfortable as possible. A crisp 3” LCD allows you to view your findings seamlessly in real-time, or you can – at the touch of a button – quickly capture a thermal image or stream video directly to a PC.
This system is powered entirely by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, giving on average up to four hours of analysis per charge.
