Make life easier when measuring and documenting sound levels in an area with this comprehensive Extech type 2 sound meter.
One of the main differences between the Extech SDL600 and other similar sound meters on the market is that this meter uses an SD card to store its readings, meaning users don't have to use RS-232 cables or a USB cable in order to interface with a PC. Instead, just remove the SD card, pop it into an SD card slot and you're good to go with all of your measurements. Using the supplied 2GB SD card also means up to 20million records can be stored, so it beats out the competition by around several million records. If the SD card isn't used the tester can still be used to store up to 99 records on the devices' in-built memory.
The SDL600 can measure sound across 3 ranges, starting at 30dB and ending at 130dB. All measurements are carried out with basic accuracy of ±1.4dB, frequency range of 31.5 to 8000Hz, A and C weighting and response time of Fast (125ms) or Slow (1s). It is also an auto or manual ranging sound meter. The sampling rate of the unit can also be adjusted by the user from 1 to 3600 seconds, making this sound meter ideal for prolonged measurements of sound.
Additional features of the Extech SDL600 included MIN/MAX measurements, a data hold function, auto shut down when left idle and the ability to stamp recording with real date and time stamps for easy reference.
This product is compliant with IEC 61672-1, giving it a class 2 sound level meter rating.
