Optimised for use both on wood and building materials, the Extech MO290 accurately determines moisture content in a material with absolutely no damage!
By using pinless technology, the MO-290 can measure the moisture content within a material up to a depth of 0.75" (19mm). Alternatively, users can use the included MO-290 pin probe to measure moisture content with direct contact and gain higher accuracy results (but this will damage the material under test).
This meter is more than just a moisture meter; at the same time as moisture values are being calculated, the MO290 can calculate air temperature, infrared (non-contact) temperature or the amount of humidity present in the air.
If you know exactly what level of moisture should be present in the material you're testing, you can set fully programmable high and low moisture/humidity alarms and the tester will alert you instantly if a sudden spike/drop in content is detected.
