Designed for use in the HVAC industry, Extech's AN200 is both an anemometer and a non-contact infrared thermometer.
Extech's AN200 is suitable for a wide variety of HVAC applications including installation, repair, diagnostics and optimisation, fume hood testing, ventilation system installation, environmental wind and temperature testing/analysis and specific applications such as testing in boiler rooms or plant and facilities maintenance.
By using the AN200 it's possible to directly measure either airflow or velocity at the same time as measuring the ambient air temperature. Air velocity can be measured in m/s, km/h, ft/min, mph or knots. Infrared temperature is tested separately; the AN200 features a built-in IR thermometer sensor with distance to spot ratio of 8:1 (measure from eight inches away for a target measurement point of 1 inch) and can test surface temperatures without contact from -4 to 500°F (-20 to 260°C).
For ease of use, the vane sensor used for airflow measurements is attached to the main body of the AN200 by a cable. In practice, this will allow you to hold the sensor in a duct or similar application while you read back results from the meter held in your other hand.
The AN200 also has several additional functions including the ability to set area dimensions for volume measurements, a large-size, backlit LCD display and much more.
