Ideal for precise measurements of even extremely small rotating machinery, Extech's 461920 is a great tool for use in any RPM measurement application.
This tachometer is a laser tachometer, which means it can be used to carry out measurements of RPM without the need to make physical contact with a system. In systems where fast rotating parts might be present such as fan blades or REV testing this enhances user safety and ensures accidents don't occur during testing procedures.
Measurements are carried out using the Extech 461920 by the use of reflective tape. The 461920 sends out a visible laser beam which reflects off this tape and returns to the tester, thus calculating the amount of time it takes for a revolution to take place in the system being measured. The laser beam also allows measurements to be lined up with pinpoint accuracy.
Small in size, the Extech 461920 is able to be used in just one hand. The main body of the unit includes a memory function which holds the last reading taken or recalls MAX/MIN readings and also contains buttons for changing the mode or activating the laser pointer. A large LCD screen is also built into the device which relays testing result information to the user.
