Extech 407750 Type 2 Sound Meter

Extech's 407750 is a type 2 sound level meter that allows users to capture and transmit sound level data directly to PC.

Both auto and manual ranging depending on preference, the Extech 407750 can measure sound levels from 30dB up to 130dB with 6 different measurement ranges available to ensure the best possible readings at all times. Measurements are carried out with general resolution of 0.1dB and general accuracy of ±1.5dB @ 94dB for a 1kHz sine wave.

This unit features A and C selectable frequency ratings and it also possible to adjust the unit's response time between Fast and Slow. Accuracy can also maintained on this sound meter by utilising the unique background noise absorber mode, which will filter out ambient noise in order to ensure that the reading taken is correct.

The main screen included on this sound meter is large, LCD and comes with a backlight for using the tester in darkened conditions. The screen will display both a numerical results and analogue bargraph representation of the detected level of sound.

When testing it is also possible to connect this unit to PC via the use of an RS-232 interface. The unit does not contain built-in memory for storing data, but transfer between PC and Extech's compatible optional software is quick and easy.

This sound tester also includes a few extra features such as MIN/MAX, analogue output, tripod mounting and a MAX hold function.
