Legionella bacteria grow in bodies of water with temperatures between 20°C and 45°C; this kit can be used to test the temperature of standing water, as well as the pipes and tanks that make up the water system. The temperature of tap water can also be checked using the penetration probe.

When checking the temperature of standing water, the immersion probe should be placed into the water to a depth of 25mm. The wire probe can be used to access awkward places or can be used when other probes would not be appropriate.

These probes are designed for use with the ETI 221-041 Therma1 Thermometer. This digital thermometer can accommodate a variety of type-K thermocouple probes and can be used with these instruments to measure temperatures between -99.9°C and +1372°C.

Temperatures are indicated to a resolution of 0.1°C/ 1°C and are viewable on the ETI 221-041 Therma1 Thermometer’s large, easy-to-read LCD display. Open circuit ‘Err’ and low battery indications are also viewable via the ETI 221-041 Therma1 Thermometer’s display.

The ETI 221-041 Therma1 Thermometer is powered by three 1.5V AAA batteries capable of providing a minimum battery life of five years. It also includes an Auto Power Off function which will switch off the thermometer after ten minutes of inactivity, preserving its battery life. It is possible to disable this function.

The ETI 221-041 Therma1 Thermometer includes several other practical features including a robust, lightweight ABS case with a ‘Biomaster’ additive designed to prevent bacterial growth.
