Equipped with a miniature needle probe, ETI’s sous vide thermometer is designed to pierce the foam applied to a vacuum packed bag and then be inserted into the food inside the bag. As the foam is over the hole the thermometer will make, this ensures that the food remains fully vacuum packed at all times and won’t interfere with your cooking.
As with all ETI Thermapen thermometers, the Sous Vide version is designed to gain a stable, accurate temperature reading within three seconds of insertion into the food you’re testing. This fast response ensures you can get reliable results in 50% faster times than other thermometers.
This thermometer can measure temperature from -49.9 to 299.9°C with exceptionally high accuracy of ±0.4°C. Resolution can be easily switched between 0.1 and 1°C using a switch in the battery compartment.
The Sous Vide Thermapen 3 has a miniature stainless steel needle probe with diameter of 1.1mm and length of 60mm*. This probe folds conveniently back into the body of the thermometer for storage.
*Please note that the needle probe is delicate and care should be taken to ensure the probe is not damaged.
