The Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp detects the presence of potentially hazardous voltages in circuits-under-investigation. It is able to detect voltages between 50V and 500V AC/DC and features four 360° illumination bands for indicating the presence of voltages above 50V, 100V, 200V and 400V. Please see the video below for an overview of the Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp.
The Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp’s four voltage bands can be easily read even in bright sunlight. They allow the user to distinguish between 110V and 230V and phase to phase voltages in three-phase systems. Moreover, the user is able to identify potentially lethal voltages at 50V.
Furthermore, to ensure that the Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp is able to differentiate between phantom voltages and consistent hazardous voltages, it includes two test buttons located on the body of the unit and on the probe. When both buttons are pressed, the Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp is able to draw a high current, thereby eliminating phantom voltages.
The Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp is compliant with the BS EN 61243-3 and BS EN 61010, CAT III 1000V, CAT IV 600V and the health and safety guidance notes for electricians’ test lamps (GS38). Its probes are fully compliant with GS38 and feature a finger shield and insulated probe tip with only 4mm of exposed metal. The lamp’s housing also features a finger shield.
In addition to this, the Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp has a two-layer double-insulated cable that is resistant to heat and oil. When the white, inner layer becomes visible this indicates that the Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp’s cable has suffered damage and may no longer be safe to use.
Furthermore, to access difficult to reach areas, the Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp is supplied with right-angled probes can be rotated through 90°, 180° and 270°.
The Martindale Drummond MTL20 Test Lamp is an accurate, easy-to-use and ergonomic voltage checker.
