The Martindale MTL15PD Drummond Test Lamp and Proving Unit Kit consists of the following products:
Please see the descriptions below for further details regarding these instruments.
The Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp can be used to prove that high-power instruments are dead prior to the commencement of maintenance or repair work. It can be used to test:
The Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp’s extensive scope-for-use is facilitated by its wide voltage measurement range. This voltage detector can be used to identify voltages as great as 1000V AC/DC rms and features nominal voltage range indications for 50V, 230V, 400V and 690V rms.
Voltage ranges are indicated via four high-intensity LED bands each indicating one of the four voltage ranges listed above (up to 690V). Further to this, the Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp is auto-ranging and does not feature any switches thereby eliminating the possibility of human error when selecting an appropriate voltage range, and also ensuring results are accurate.
The Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp has been constructed to facilitate a 360° viewing angle and the LED lights are viewable in bright conditions. Adding to this instrument’s practicality is its rugged design and six additional test probes including 62mm straight probes, 62mm right-angled probes and 130mm extended probes. The right-angled probes can be rotated through 90°, 180° and 270° to ensure that they are locked in place. These probes allow the user to detect voltages in difficult-to-access areas.
This instrument has been optimised for safety as well as practicality. To this end, it includes finger shields for the probe and lamp housing. Moreover, the Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp features an insulated probe tip with only 4mm of exposed metal, as well as a two-layer double insulated cable. Double insulation allows the user to monitor the wear of the cable; the cable is also resistant to heat and oil.
As a result of it rugged, practical and safe design the Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp meets the following criteria:
The Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp is suitable for supply-side applications in all installation categories as defined by BS EN 61010. This safe, practical and easy-to-use voltage tester with an extensive range is ideal for identifying hazardous voltages greater than 50V, as well as determining the supply type of the detected voltage.
The Martindale PD690 700V AC Proving Unit can be used to verify the functionality of the Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp before and after testing.
Its 700V AC output allows the user to check that all the Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp’s ranges are functional up to 690V.
The Martindale PD690 700V AC Proving Unit is also suitable for checking Martindale two pole voltage testers with LED or LCD displays.
The Martindale PD690 700V AC Proving Unit can be powered using either alkaline batteries or a 12V power supply, allowing the user to tailor the proving unit to his/her circumstances.
The Martindale PD690 700V AC Proving Unit is a useful instrument optimised for ensuring the safety of the Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp and, by extension, the user.
The Martindale TC69 Soft Carry Case can be used to transport the above Martindale MTL15 Drummond Test Lamp and Martindale PD690 700V AC Proving Unit.
It features a clear, external pocket allowing the user to prove his/her test lamp without removing the proving unit from the carrying case, thereby improving testing efficiency.
The Martindale TC69 Soft Carry Case is a practical accessory, ideal for maintaining compliance with Electricity at Work regulations.
