Note: Detective Net Wireless Modules (sold separately) are required to create a wireless network using two or more Detective+ units.
Part of Crowcon's range of gas detection equipment, the Detective+ is an innovative tool suitable for measuring methane and oxygen concentration in a wide variety of different applications.
Consisting of a raised detector attached to a sturdy metallic fixed frame, the Detective+ is rugged, reliable and provides accurate measurements of gas concentration. When values that exceed thresholds are detected the Detective+ emits an extremely loud, 104dB alarm and also shines bright LED indicators all around its body, making it easy to spot problems.
By using multiple Detective+ units (up to 25) it is possible to configure a comprehensive wireless network of detectors that transmit their data from one unit to the next. This networking (which requires wireless modules - sold separately) allows the units to be up to 100m away from each other with no wires and causes all units to sound alarms and shine LED indicators when a problem is detected. The problem can then be traced to the applicable unit and corrective action can be taken against the gas detected.
The video below shows how the wireless networking capabilities of this instrument can be used.
The applications for this networking are vast; why not, for example, place one inside a dangerous confined space to constantly monitor gas build-up from a safe area outside the space? Alternatively, why not place the Detective+ units around an offshore installation for constant monitoring of methane content?
