Chauvin Arnoux CA8345 Qualistar Class A Power Quality Analyser
The Chauvin Arnoux CA8345 Qualistar Class A Power Quality Analyser is a power and energy analyser fully compliant with IEC 61000-4-30 Class A Edition 3. It is ideal for inspection and maintenance teams working on industrial and/or tertiary installations as it offers a snapshot of the main electrical network quality features.
Suitable for monitoring all installation types, the Chauvin Arnoux Power Quality Analyser takes all DC components into account when measuring:
- Harmonics (amplitude and phase shift) from DC to the 63rd order
- Inter-harmonics subgroups from 0 to the 62nd order
- Two carrier current frequencies
- P, N, Q1, S, and D power values (total and per phase)
- Energy values (total and per phase) with energy valuation
It offers voltage quality diagnostics, as well as internal GPS for precise UTC synchronisation (NTP is also possible), and supports configurable alarms for multiple parameters.
In addition to the aforementioned measurement functions, it can also calculate:
- K factor and FHL
- Distorting voltages and currents
- Displacement power factor (DPF) and power factor (PF)
- Pst and Plt flicker and sliding Pst
- Unbalance (current and voltage)
- Waveform Inrush (10-minute duration)
- RMS and Peak Inrush (30-minute duration)
Hundreds of parameter readings are recorded to the removable SD card. It offers trend recording with recording periods ranging from 200ms to 2hrs. Moreover, fast transient events are captured and their characteristics are saved to the analyser’s memory. It can capture hundreds of 2.5µs transients, as well as shockwaves up to 12kV with a resolution of 500ns.
It supports many methods of communication enabling the transfer of data and/or remote operation of the unit. These include USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi interfaces, software for real-time data recovery and PC communication, and a web server for remote interface with Android, Microsoft, and iOS apps. Furthermore, the Power Quality Analyser is equipped with a screenshot function for capturing images and data which are recorded and backed up by the instrument.
Data, including the real-time display of waveforms (four voltage and four current) and phasor diagrams, is visible on the wide, seven-inch, touchscreen, colour LCD. This easy-to-use, intuitive power analyser is supported by multilingual online help. It can be programmed to include multiple user profiles. Other practical features include automatic recognition of different current sensors, five 50Hz/60Hz AC/DC voltage inputs, a DC power supply, and a 55mm-thick, IP54-rated casing with a stand.
Overall it is an easy-to-use, ergonomic, and accurate power and energy analyser with an eclectic array of measurement and calculation functions.
