The Chauvin Arnoux CA773 Voltage Absence Tester can be used to check CAT IV 1000V electrical installations for the presence of voltage. It is able to detect AC voltages from 12V to 1000V and DC voltages between 12V and 1400V.
The voltages detected using this instrument are shown via the backlit digital display and are indicated by LEDs. In addition to displaying voltages, the Chauvin Arnoux CA773 Voltage Absence Tester will also display the resistance values detected when conducting extended continuity tests. This instrument is also capable of conducting quick, audible and visual continuity tests at 100Ω.
Other tests and detection features available on this model are:
The Chauvin Arnoux CA773 Voltage Absence Tester is also fitted with an integrated autotest function which runs a sequence of tests investigating the condition of electrical circuits, power supplies, displays and the condition of measurement leads. As well as this, the CA773 includes an integrated redundant safety system, this system will cause the ELV LED to flash if it detects a power supply fault, or if the voltage measurement is hazardous, i.e. in excess of 50V AC or 120V DC. The higher the voltage detected the faster the ELV LED will flash.
Adding to the safety of this instrument is its double insulated test probes which protect both the tester and user against electric shocks. These test probes can be removed from the instrument and/or attached in a choice of two positions on the tester (16mm or 19mm spacing), allowing the user to tailor the Chauvin Arnoux CA773 Voltage Absence Tester to his/her needs.
This instrument can be easily adapted to suit particular situations, for instance, it includes an integrated torch, ensuring that it remains functional in dark environments; whilst its IP65 casing protects the tester from water and dust ingress, allowing it to be used in rugged, challenging environments. The Chauvin Arnoux CA773 Voltage Absence Tester is a type-N extended climatic class instrument which means that it will remain operable at temperatures as low as -15°C and as high as +40°C.
Furthermore, the Chauvin Arnoux CA773 Voltage Absence Tester can be adapted to perform additional checks. It may be used with the Chauvin Arnoux CA753 Adapter to test European and Schuko 2P+E power sockets.
The Chauvin Arnoux CA773 Voltage Absence Tester is a practical, versatile and ergonomic addition to any electrician’s toolkit.
The Chauvin Arnoux CA773 Voltage Absence Tester has a sister product, the Chauvin Arnoux CA771 Voltage Absence Tester, please find below the technical specifications for both of these models.
