The C.Scope SGA4 Dual-Frequency Signal Generator is a cost-effective, adjustable dual-frequency signal transmitter capable of simultaneously outputting 33kHz and 131kHz signals. It increases the number of buried services/ cables that are energised and subsequently detected using C. Scope’s CXL4 or DXL4 Cable Avoidance Tools.
Simultaneous Dual Frequency
As mentioned above, simultaneous 33kHz and 131kHz signal outputs maximise the number of buried services, utilities, pipes and cables, including street lighting cables, that are energised which in turn maximises the number that can be detected using one of C.Scope’s CXL4 or DXL4 Cable Avoidance Tools.
Furthermore, as these signals can be applied using the induction method or using a signal clamp, this improves the detection of smaller diameter and/or poorly earthed cables and means that direct connection to buried services is not required.
High Power Signal
Moreover, the C.Scope SGA4 Dual-Frequency Signal Generator’s adjustable one-watt power output means that deeper and/or less conducting pipes can be energised and traced over long distances.
To enable the user to maintain control of power application, the C.Scope SGA4 Dual-Frequency Signal Generator also features two-position power levels.
Pulsed or Continuous Signal Output
The user can switch from a continuous signal output to a pulsed signal output at the push of a button. Pulsed Signal mode is ideal for high-interference situations.
When the C.Scope SGA4 Dual-Frequency Signal Generator is in operation it will issue an audible signal. This signal can be muted using the audio mute control.
Three Signal Application Techniques
The C.Scope SGA4 Dual-Frequency Signal Generator supports the following signal application techniques.
Direct Connection
The direct connection method is ideal for identifying and tracing individual pipes and cables as well as measuring their depths. This method is most effective at pinpointing pipes and cables when it is used with a signal clamp, signal injectors or direct connection leads.
Wraparound Technique
The wraparound technique is a good alternative in situations where it is difficult or inconvenient to use the direct connection method. The wraparound technique can be used to energise street or car park lighting cables.
Induction
The C.Scope SGA4 Dual-Frequency Signal Generator can induce a detectable and traceable signal in previously unknown or undetected and/or inaccessible metal pipes and cables.
Ergonomic, Robust and Durable
The robust and durable C.Scope SGA4 Dual-Frequency Signal Generator has an ingress protection rating of IP65 and features a twin-wall construction. Its base also functions as a large detachable accessory tray capable of storing the standard accessories (see ‘What’s Included?’) and instruction manual supplied with this unit, as well as OPTIONAL accessories such as signal clamps, sondes and signal injectors.
