The C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator is a signal transmitter designed to be used with C.Scope’s MXL4 Datalogging Precision Cable Locators to identify, pinpoint and trace a wide variety of pipes and cables.
Multi-Frequency
The C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator can issue frequency signals ranging from 512/640Hz to 131kHz and supports a dual-frequency 33kHz and 131kHz signal output. The C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator enables maximum energisation and detection (using a compatible MXL4 Locator) of buried utilities, pipes and cables. It also improves long-distance tracing and utility identification in congested sites.
Signal Application Techniques
Also contributing to the flexibility of the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator is its ability to support multiple signal application techniques.
Direct Connection
The C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator’s Direct Connection technique is most effective when used with a signal clamp, signal injectors or direct connection leads. It enables specific pipes and cables to be identified and traced, and can be used to measure the depths of these utilities. It is especially useful for identifying and tracing poorly earthed cables or cables with small diameters.
Wraparound
The Wraparound technique can be used when it is difficult or inconvenient to use the Direct Connection technique. It is ideal for energising street and car park lighting cables.
Induction
The Induction technique can be used to induce a traceable signal in previously unknown, undetected or inaccessible metal pipes and cables.
High Power Signal
Enabling deeper pipes and cables to be energised and traced over longer distances is the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator’s fully adjustable one-watt power output.
The C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator includes a four-position power level adjustment granting the user full control over when and how much power is used.
Pulsed & Continuous Signal Output Modes
The C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator is able to issue outputs as a continuous signal or as a pulse signal. The user can switch between Pulse and Continuous Signal Output modes at the push of a button. Pulse Signal Output mode is particularly useful when tracing utilities in high interference situations.
The C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator will provide a clear audible alert when issuing a signal output. This alert can be switched off using the audio mute control.
High-Resolution Backlit Digital Display
The selected frequency signal output, function and power level are all displayed on the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator’s easy-to-read, backlit LCD which is mounted behind a protective polycarbonate lens. Via the display, the user can also view the connection quality, battery condition and the results of the Automatic Daily Self Test (ADST).
Automatic Daily Self Test (ADST)
Upon initial start-up, the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator will perform an Automatic Daily Self Test. The results of this test are automatically saved to the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator’s in-built memory. A positive result indicates that the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator is working correctly.
ADST results can be downloaded to a PC anytime within the following twelve months. Once downloaded they can be used with the C.Scope PC Toolkit (NOT included) to create a Product Validation Certificate. The C.Scope PC Toolkit can also be used to access the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator’s original calibration certificate.
As the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator performs Automatic Daily Self Tests, the need for periodic recalibration is negated.
Datalogging
In addition to saving ADST results, the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator and C.Scope MXL4 Datalogging Precision Cable Locator have the capacity to save up to a year’s worth of data between them. Data can be transferred to a PC at any time via a USB interface.
Robust, Durable and Ergonomic Design
This IP65 Genny features a twin-wall design to ensure it is suitable for rugged, challenging outdoor environments. Furthermore, the C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator’s large base doubles as an accessory tray capable of storing an instruction manual as well as all the standard accessories supplied with this unit, and additional OPTIONAL accessories such as a signal clamp, sondes and signal injectors.
The C.Scope MXT4 Multi-Frequency Datalogging Signal Generator is a versatile, reliable and resilient Genny optimised for use with C.Scope’s MXL4 CATs.
