This year’s theme for International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), Make Safety Seen, has been inspired by the campaign’s roots. Launched ten years ago by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), a former secretary and subsequent president of the society, Dame Caroline Haslett, is renowned, amongst other things, for her work improving electrical safety in the home.
